I do wish people would stop declaring that this slaughter was 'senseless'. No, it wasn't, because the purpose of terrorism is to spread terror - which it has. The crazed terrorist who killed dozens of people when he ploughed a massive lorry into groups of people celebrating Bastille Day screamed 'Allahu Akbar' as he opened fire on frantic police trying to stop him, it has been claimed.

The twisted killer , a 31-year-old French-Tunisian man named locally as Mohamed Lahouaiej Boisvert, was seen zigzagging along the road in an effort to kill as many terrified people as possible as he careered along the promenade in Nice.

At least 84 people were killed and a further 18 are feared to be fighting for their life while dozens of children are in hospital after the lorry careered along the promenade at around 40mph.

I find myself in the unusual position of agreeing with Ms Hopkins.

I wish these candle-lighting, praying idiots would go and look at the images of the dead and injured - not the censored, sanitized ones, the pictures taken as this unfolded.

Because those maimed, destroyed bodies are what mealy-mouthed stupidity has brought us to. We may as well go around carrying signs saying, Carry on! Slaughter us! We won't do anything except light bloody candles and announce that #lovewins.

Oh, and if you're captured alive after slaughtering innocent men, women and children, we'll pay for you to get a good lawyer - can't have your Human Rights being abused, can we?
