Donald Trump isn’t even president yet and he’s already winning for American workers.
The president-elect of the United States has secured a deal to keep 1,000 Carrier Corporation jobs in America two months before he takes office.

“President-elect Donald Trump and Carrier have reached a deal that will keep nearly 1,000 factory jobs in Indiana, the company said on Tuesday,” Indianapolis Fox 59 local news station reported.

Carrier Corporation announced the deal on Twitter.

“We are pleased to have reached a deal with President-elect Trump & VP-elect Pence to keep close to 1,000 jobs in Indy. More details soon,” Carrier Corporation’s Twitter account reported on Tuesday evening.

It's amazing to see after the last eight years, Lily. It won't be easy to turn things around, but Trump may be the only person who can actually do it. Trump in office with a pen and a phone is going to be a thing of wonder.

It's also fascinating to see how quickly Obama is being sidelined.

Oh yes it is.  I think he will get used to being sidelined in time.  

I suspect many government employees in Washington are in for a bit of a culture shock, too, Lily, as The Donald will expect them to actually earn their large paychecks.

Police released footage on Tuesday of what may be the luckiest theft in recent history. In the clip, a man brazenly swipes an 86-pound bucket full of gold worth $1.6 million from the back of an unattended armored truck on West 48th Street in the Diamond District on Sept. 29, in broad daylight, as tourists and locals were walking in and out of the jewelry stores that line the block.

The footage, first obtained by NBC 4 New York showed the man capitalizing on a 20-second window left open by the guards, one of whom was making a pickup while the other was walking to the front seat. The suspect allegedly cased the open Loomis International truck as it parked outside 48 W. 48th St., near Sixth Avenue. Realizing no one was looking, he then grabbed a black 5-gallon bucket carrying 86 pounds of gold flakes bound for Ontario and ran away with it in his arms, police said.

The heist, which was captured on tape, showed the man making off with the 86-pound bucket. Throughout his hour-long escape, he appears to struggle with the gold flakes, stopping to set them down several times and even attempting to carry them on his shoulder at one point.

Surveillance cameras tracked him weaving around a crowded sidewalk and onto Sixth Avenue where he disappears from view.

The suspect, who hadn't been arrested as of Wednesday morning, is about 5
feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds and in his 50s, police said. Cops suspect that the man is lying low in Orlando or Miami until things blow over in the Big Apple. He was last seen wearing a black vest, green shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black messenger bag, police said.

According to the Post, authorities said his actions appeared to be those of a man who was completely unprepared. “I think he just saw an opportunity, took the pail and walked off,” NYPD Detective Martin Pastor told NBC, adding that police believe the sticky-fingered swindler had no idea what he had just scored.

“I think when the lucky charm opened up the bucket, he’d seen the rainbow and seen the gold,” Pastor said.

Awesome! If you saw a bucket of gold just lying around, unattended - who could resist walking off with it?

Putin hopes to fix ties with US, pool anti-terror efforts

MOSCOW (AP) — In a conciliatory state-of-the-nation address, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday voiced hope for mending a rift with the U.S. and pooling efforts in fighting terrorism. The speech reflected Moscow's hope that President-elect Donald Trump could help repair ties with Washington that have sunk to a post-Cold War low over the crisis in Ukraine, the Syria war and other disputes.

Putin emphasized that friendly relations between the two superpowers are essential for global stability. "Russia-U.S. cooperation in solving global and regional problems answers the interests of the entire world," he said. "We share responsibility for ensuring global security and stability and strengthening the non-proliferation regime."

The 66-year-old Mattis, known by his nickname, "Mad Dog," retired from the military in 2013 after serving as the commander of the U.S. Central Command. His appointment to run the Pentagon would require a waiver from Congress, since federal law requires military personnel to be retired for seven years before taking a civilian position in the in the Department of Defense.

Senior staffers on the House and Senate Armed Services Committees told Fox News earlier this week that they had already drawn up language for the required waiver and were ready to present it to Congress if Trump nominated Mattis quickly.

Fire inspectors were there a couple of weeks ago, and no-one actually DID THEIR JOB and shut the firetrap down.

It was being lived in/used as some kind of junk shop/used for musical events - all illegally.

Nothing was done about any of this due to a a malign combination of affirmative action state employees, moonbats, stupidity and total irresponsibility.

I see no comfort for the families of the many people who died so horribly, as it wouldn't have happened if state employees had been doing their job instead of avoiding responsibility.
