I know nothing about the Portuguese sales, but Hungarians are avid book readers. Their language plays with words in a way we English speakers cannot rival. You can go in to the poorest of homes and you will find a small stack of treasured books, usually the Bible, Shakespeare, novels by native Magyar writers even, if the child in the house is studying English, Thomas the Tank Engine, Narnia books, Enid Blyton!! The bookstores are usually full of people buying books; they still, like me, prefer the printed page, the feel of a book, the crackle of the paper as it is turned over; I don't think Kindle will catch on! On the trains, buses etc everyone reads avidly. Only tourists stare out of the windows as the land flashes by! LL

Just checked - it is on sale in branches of Alexandra, the main booksellers in Hungary with branches all over the country. Also note that the Natasha Kampinsk book is listed as No 1 in the top 10 list. LL
