Re: Cease and Desist?
I do so hate to add to Brown's woes but I assume she has seen the kind of weather Portugal is getting? No?
http://www.cmjornal.xl.pt/detalhe/noticias/ultima-hora/oito-distritos-sob-aviso-laranja-e-dez-em-amarelo
Eight districts on notice ten Orange and yellow
Eight districts of mainland Portugal are under orange alert, the second worst, and ten others with yellow caution due to the continuation of cold and low values of minimum temperature, according to updated information from the Institute of Meteorology.
With orange warning, which means a "weather situation of moderate to high risk", are the districts of Bragança, Évora, Vila Real, Beja, Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Aveiro and Braga.
Oporto, Guarda Faro, Setúbal, Santarém, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Coimbra and Viseu are under the yellow warning, which refers to "risk for certain activities dependent on the weather situation."
On Friday, it is expected a sharp drop in temperature on the Continent, with the maximum on that day to oscillate between the two degrees (Guard) and 11 (Faro) and the lowest among the seven degrees Celsius (Bragança) and two positive (Faro).
For Saturday, the IM provides a minimum temperature of eight degrees below zero in Bragança, a negative grade in Porto, seven degrees below zero in Penhas Golden, in Lisbon two degrees, two degrees below zero in three Beja and Faro.
Perfect weather for digging up people's gardens!

I am surprised she is not asking for donations, to enable her to buy a winter coat.

@annembremner Is it norm in Stafford Frey Cooper to send out legal letters to lawyers in wrong firms? #McCann Seems YOU did that today.
Good question.

I see Greenink is asking if Bremner did send the letter and has queried if they proof read at Bremner's firm

No, they weren't - Brown made a total fool of herself on the internet, is what actually happened today.
Blowing hot air in a blog post which you keep rewriting is not 'serving' anything, beyond providing rib-tickling hilarity on a cold winter's day.

I would like to see someone get a sensible answer out of either Brown or Bremner, Tony. It ain't happened so far.

It's even a bit chilly here. But all essential supplies are secured. And I am ready for a sit in. Although I doubt that anything could be more funny than today.

Re: Cease and Desist?
Hounder:
Pat Brown has had a "Cease and Desist" notice served on TM.
No, she hasn't. Only a judge can do that in the US.
What Brown has done is post a load of rambling, badly-written nonsense on her blog. She also addressed all this to the wrong lawyer, in the wrong country.
She has since spent the day frantically trying to lie her way out of this, which has caused great hilarity.
Why couldn't she simply have scanned this 'letter' in to begin with, if it actually existed, instead of spouting all this hot air, and making an idiot of herself in the process?

She does seem rather tired and emotional, Tony, a failing she seems to share with Brown and Bremner.

Re: Cease and Desist?
The letter should have the documentation stating the court and judge who issued the order. Then it has to be served to Isabel Duarte/Carter and Ruck?

Re: Cease and Desist?
The filing of a declaratory judgment lawsuit can follow one party sending a cease-and-desist letter to another.[7] A party contemplating sending such a letter risks that the recipient, or a party related to the recipient (such as a customer or supplier), may file for a declaratory judgment in their own jurisdiction.[8] This may require the sender to appear in a distant court, at their own expense. So sending a cease-and-desist letter presents a dilemma to the sender, as it would be desirable to be able to address the issues at hand in a candid manner without the need for litigation. Upon receiving a cease-and-desist letter, the recipient may seek a tactical advantage by instituting declaratory-judgment litigation in a more favorable jurisdiction.[9

In other words Carter and Ruck can apply to the British courts for a ruling.

I would have thought so, Tony.
Is it actually possible that Brown cannot grasp that the First Amendment doesn't mean a thing in European law, and that she thinks she can bully people into doing what she wants?
I don't know, but this is madness - a multi-edited blog post is NOT a legal document. I know her forker fans are lapping this up, but then they always have been reality-challenged.

Oh, nice one, Tony!
So, what does Brown think is going to happen, should this idiotic letter ever turn up? Because I have no doubt they know all about her antics today.
What is going to happen when CR contact Bremner's law firm, and ask the senior partners what on earth Brown and Bremner are playing at?
Mind you, I would pay money to see Brown summoned to the High Court - in London, England - over this, and asked to explain why on earth she thinks the UK and Portugal come under US jurisdiction.

Re: Cease and Desist?
If Bremner has sent the letter, she would also know the pitfalls of doing so. If she hasn't advised her client of the risks.....tough!

There was a mention this morning on MM about why was it addressed to Isabel Duarte, But they are completely ignoring that now.
Thank God Bren got that first screen shot. They can hardly now deny that it happened.

It's even worse than that, Tony. Amazon made the perfectly reasonable suggestion that Brown contact CR and find out what the problem was - for all anyone knows, it could have been a single sentence.
Brown chose not to. She chose, instead, to go all over the internet.
And she's still doing it

Are they actually capable of registering reality, Tony? I suspect Brown figured - rightly - that her fans are too thick to see what is wrong with this supposed 'letter'.
