I think they are getting a bit upset, Bonny. What is actually happening isn't quite the fantasy that they have been manufacturing for the last five years.
Madeleine was Abducted and could well still be alive, and her middle class doctor parents are Innocent.
Now I think this is very good news, so I really don't understand why these Truth Seekers are working themselves into a collective heart attack. Unless they want Madeleine dead.

What about Cardosa? He was an arguido too and subsequently jalied IIRC. And Cristovao, maybe he wasn't still with the PJ; not sure, but he was an arguido at one stage too

So that's four of them if I am correct. What was Guilhermo Encarnação,thinking of, empoying these peeps; let alone putting them in charge of such a case.?
