It was stated by Silvia Batista that on 20-09-2007, during the morning, three reporters from Sky News, two men and a woman, were seen on the patio of apartment 5 A and that they had forced the external blind to the bedroom that Madeleine had disappeared from, probably with the intention of filming inside, and she told them to leave. But she said that yesterday 25-09-2007 a security guard was asked to come to the same apartment as there was a group of three journalists - two Spanish men and a woman, who had set up cameras on the patio next to Apartment 5 A which was occupied at the time. Their identification was not noted, but given the fact they had filming equipment, they were assumed to be reporters

Then the shutters were later raised when the building was being guarded.

I think we can see why the PJ weren't in the least interested in hearsay about shutters - they knew they could be raised from the outside.

Given the scenario, as well as the way the shutter had been raised as well as the limiting factors that other people had already been at the site and there was no guarantee of its preservation, the procedure to examine for fingerprints was not activated by the Portimao DIC.

That letter was sent to Gonc; he doesn't seem to have said too much about the shutters being raised from the outside ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN SEPTEMBER.

Don't know, but 5a clearly had them - and they DON'T make enough noise to alert the security guy guarding the premises.

Maybe they are OK for keeping light out, but little more use than bog-standard shutters for security?

The patio is on the opposite side of the building to Madeleines bedroom and there is quite a long walk via that walkway, across the car park, via R Dr Augostinho da Silva, then R. Dr Francisco Gentil Martins, finally through the gate and up the steps to the patio. Is Sylvia Baptista bone fide? Wonder how she knew they were the same peeps who lifted the shutter as they were on opposite sides of the building and completely out of view from any one particular place?

Oh and I have a PT friend who has shotters like these and tells me that they can readily be raised from the outside without any force. Seems they are designed that way.

The street lamps originally had an orange glow to them and it was only after the event, that someone had these changed to white.

Take a look at the trees surrounding the car park (13th and 14th pictures down). Whether or not someone could see any doors or windows from the block opposite in May 2007, could only be determined by the PJ investigators at that time. They have since been removed and I would have hoped that someone could have informed Pat Brown of this.

Brown really has fouled up, then, if even the hounders can see how error-riddled that effort is.

Those photographs are good. I have been using some of them. It is noticeable that generally the photos around 5A, Ocean Club, are brighter lit than elsewhere in PdL. They make it appear a good deal brighter than I remember. Might they be long exposures or doctored in some way?

The very last photo of the side of 5A is more in line with what I remember.

I have little idea about the photos, Sadie - I do object to some of the captions, especially the Carvalho ones. His are crude propaganda, and repeat the canard that Jane Tanner identified Murat, which she did not.

MIKE TESKOWSKI - his photos are good, but he seems to be a bit, well, odd. He turned up on the Brunty blog with these last year, insisting he had taken photos of Madeleine's ghost....and no, they weren't forthcoming.

Oh, look at those trees! No wonder Brown forgot to mention they had been chopped down since 2007, they make a nonsense of her entire 'theory'.

Why on earth didn't she do something as basic as LOOKING AT PHOTOS OF THE AREA IN 2007, before she bashed out that nonsense?

You cannot even see the apartment block opposite because they are in the way.

These shutters are mainly designed to keep the heat in on Winter nights. They might somewhat deter someone breaking in, but they are too flimsy for real security. Empty houses belonging to absent owners often get broken into around here.
Shutters have been a Continental thing for Centuries and long before people went around breaking into other people's houses. They really are not designed for Security. You need bars for that.
There was a brief time when shutters got you an Insurance reduction, but so many empty houses were still being burgled that The Insurance Companies no longer offer this reduction. I know because I inquired.

Just as a matter of interest, Curtains are a recent innovation in France, mainly due to Brits who insist on having them, and it sort of caught on. This is why it is virtually impossible to buy Curtain Tape in France.
French Curtains just don't hang right and are rarely lined because they don't need them to keep the heat in. They also attract spiders and flies, so you have to keep on washing them.

In the visor so much talk there on Facebook started to see a program to explore the fairy tales and superstition of the people in the name of profit and audience - I know, can barely keep quiet in the chair, such a surprise.
This is called "Up to the Truth" and debuted yesterday at the SIC. I bet the person who remembered this name has a very sophisticated understanding of what is sarcasm or irony. I would call him "Until next time," you know, that "until the next" that tells someone who just greeted by education and who do not wish to return to find us soon.
The program - presented by Rita Ferro Rodrigues - uses the services of spiritualist medium to reconstruct crimes. The medium visit the sites where those sites will have occurred or where the victims were last seen alive again.
Interview to family and friends of the victims, it provides the official version reported by the authorities, invites the leading expert on Portuguese television trivia to make up the bouquet tretatológico (Moita Flores), make-up of events and dramatized reconstructions, al ai ai, seances.
One of the cases discussed was the murder of Carlos Castro, the chronicler of acute socialite who was murdered in New York. In the fairy tales and superstition, even added a third element essential to the success of the program: the gossip. The SIC does not mess around.

The truth is in socks

"In this program we do not look guilty or criminal investigation," warns the presenter in the introduction. "We seek the truth, peace and tranquility through the work of two internationally recognized medium."
Do not investigate or conclude, but want to get to the truth. So it's easy! This truth of the SIC has the value of a pair of socks that you forget somewhere in the room and so you have to look for. The stench a stinky feet does not give peace or tranquility to anyone, thank you Rita. The truth is that desire. The way you are. The Earth is flat again.
Had not seen two minutes of the program and was already losing the apathy.
And then we have two medium, Brian Robertson and Simon James: fartei me Googling to see if I could find scientific evidence worthy of the name that could be associated with these gentlemen and not found anything except references on sites that are dedicated to promotion of international conspiracies designed to hide the existence of Gambozinos. Not even Wikipedia knows them.
However, Rita insisted, we must take them seriously because they are 'recognized internationally'. Sponge Bob is also recognized internationally, but I doubt anyone in their right mind to choose for their credibility.
The medium are introduced with some footage that we see them walking quietly, while a voice-over introduces us to the world of tretatologia assuring us that we only use "10 percent of our brain capacity."

From that moment I realized that the truth of the program is, in fact, in socks, and I failed to see that shit. Maybe getting old or prefer to reserve my energies for other things, but I lack even the apathy to let me sit on the couch while the intelligence and knowledge are insulted in the name of profit. Imagine then how insulted and hurt if friends and family may feel they do not share this vision of the medieval world.
Suffice it to you the "Truth To 'lose five minutes to discover that, in fact, this 10 percent is an urban myth, a statement falsely attributed to Einstein and without any scientific validity.
Not the Rita Ferro Rodrigues promised to uncross her legs like Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct I would come back to lose five more minutes of my intellectual life with the manure of television. Therefore, "to the next."

Sounds to me like the frauds have been hanging round hate sites.
