PART-TIME PROTESTERS POP HOME FOR GOOD NIGHT’S KIP
PART-time protesters camped out at St Paul’s Cathedral are leaving their tents to go home at night.
The protest lite campaigners admit they slink off to shower, get ready for work and see families.
It was claimed only around 10% of the Occupy London Stock Exchange protesters were staying in the tent city in central London overnight.
It has also emerged that the anti-capitalist camp includes student Jack Hartcup, 21, whose dad is a loaded property developer.
Former Tory councillor Robin Smith, 48, admitted he was among the part-time protesters.
He said: “I’d say about 25% of the people go away and come back.
“There are lots of normal middle-class people turning up who have got jobs and a family to keep.”
Speaking from his house in Wokingham, Berks, he added: “I’m home today. I come home every few days to get cleaned up.
“I’ve been there since the weekend and this is the second time I’ve come back.”
A City of London councillor claimed police used infra-red pictures taken from a helicopter to show tents were empty at night.
Meanwhile, posh Jack, who used to live in one of his dad’s £1.5million flats, said: “I’ve been with the gypsies at Dale Farm and I’ve been here, but I’m not the centre of anything.
“I want to see real change in this country at an economic level.”
And he rejected the fortune earned by his dad James, 54, a director of Eclipse Building Ltd. He said: “My father has done very well for himself.
“But I don’t intend to do what he does. He has gone along with the capitalist system.”

Knock me down with a feather! And here was me thinking they were your excluded and starving proletariat!

Occupy London... but not in the dark: The thermal images that prove 90% of tents in St Paul's protest camp are empty overnight
Footage from a thermal imaging camera taken late at night reveals just a fraction of the makeshift camp is occupied, in contrast to the crowds during the day (right). The images suggest the vast majority of the demonstrators who gather around St Paul's cathedral to denounce capitalism during the day go home or to a hotel to stay warm at night.

Re: Get Well Soon, Anna!
Well you can't expect the poor dears to sleep rough like that every night, Bonny? The weather's getting worse and they also must miss all their home comforts. I do hope they will be remembered in the New Year's Honors List.
ETA: Some of the brave souls were interviewed on TV. They said that the camera imagining was bogus and that only a teeny tiny minority didn't sleep there at night. Must be troooooooo.

St Paul's Chancellor Quits Amid Protest Row
Seems the C.of E. (militant wing) got a bit fed up of him being a bit too, Peace, man when they had something involving water cannon in mind. In an environmentally-friendly and non-exclusive manner, of course.

HOW DO YOU LIKE A DEMO IN YOUR BACKYARD?
Quote:
Our man Matt Wilkinson pitched a tent on the lawn of Robin Smith, a former Tory councillor who admits to protesting outside the historic Cathedral only on a part-time basis.
This, presumably, leaves the anti-capitalist campaigner plenty of time to enjoy his large detached home in affluent Wokingham, Berkshire, if he so wishes.
We sent Wilkinson to Mr Smith’s impressive property armed with his own “weekend warrior’s” essential kit including woolly hat, sleeping bag and assorted hand-painted banners, in this case saying “Give Us Back St Paul’s”.
Taking care not to cause any damage, and with the upmost respect for the neighbours, Wilkinson was striking a blow for the Daily Express’s “Boot Them Out” crusade, aimed at ridding a rabble who succeeded where Hitler failed in closing the Cathedral.

Re: Get Well Soon, Anna!
But then if you ‘must travel on foot, travel light’ – so far you have a small field hospital on your back, the contents of the local grocery store, a salvaged fire extinguisher in case you meet any fires, a box of documents, your survival manual, and, I almost forgot to mention, a saucepan on your head, safety goggles on your eyes, steel toe capped shoes to protect you from broken glass, and spare socks in case your feet get wet…I am not making this up.
Particularly love the saucepan on the head. Be careful which way you turn the handle.

Yeah well, Bonny. You don't want any anarchists stealing your property do you? How are you going to prove it after calling the police?

I have to say, if I heard a voice telling me:
“You can have anything you want. You can have anything you want.”
I wouldn't assume it was the Big Guy Upstairs...more likely an emissary from someplace hotter....
