Released pedophile lives undisturbed right next door to his victim in Adinkerke, Belgium.

Just after Justice Minister De Clerck launched a new bill, which let criminals serve their sentence in "homedetention", it appears that a pedophile drives a family in Adinkerke (Belgium) to despair by moving back home to his old address, after he was released from prison, fordated and under conditions.

The bill would eliminate the current need to combat impunity, but does it take everything into account?

The 38-year-old Christophe B., a former police inspector, was senteced in February 2010 to four years imprisonment, of which he actually served two years. The man raped and abused the underage girl next door dozens of times for 5 years.

When the crime was discovered, the man could impossible deny, after police found a lot of porn in his house, including homemade child pornography and images of him while raping his young neighbor.

Now he is back in the same street as the family. His release came earlier then expected, however, under strict conditions: no contact with the victim and move house 'as soon as possible' away from Andinkerke, but.... no deadline was set.

"We realize that, one day, this man would take his place in society again", says the father. "But instead of moving out, leaving us alone, he makes this great decoration. Recently he was at the barbecue, in bare-chested. My daughter even bumped into him."

The parents are not the only one who wants Christophe B. to leave the neighborhood. The children's upscale district supports the argument of the victims, while the pedophile, unshamed in his naked torso, stir up the neighborhood.

The parents are powerless, Court told them. The conditions were not clearly enough defined and formulated, so that the pedophile, in principle, is not breaking any rule. After all he seeks no contact by himself, he will move house 'as quickly as possible' and his house is up for rent. But how long must the vicitim and her family endure this painful and intolerable confrontation which is to blame due to injustice and judicial nonchalance?

The lawyer of the parents is outraged something like this could happen while the pedophile show 'no sense of guilt towards the family and is provocating the situation'.

The lawyer wrote a letter to the assistant prosecutor handling the case. Nothing happened.
The director of the Justice Court House in Veurne admits that the court in this sensitive matter could have defined the conditons more sharper. But, according to the information he received from the judicial assistant, the pedophile, on paper, meets with the required guidelines.

If a complaint is made, the probation commission judges what should happen to the man. Presumably he is first urged not to settle permanently in the neighborhood. If he violates his conditions again, prison await.

The lawyer resigned a letter of complaint last June. In which he demanded the succession of the conditions of the man's release, the pedophile must be much more closely monitored, no contact with his victim and move house as quickly as possible. Nothing happened.

After the media frenzy the prosecutor promised the lawyer today clear conditions: "We will keep the reins tight. If it appears that the man was not acting directly or provokes again, we will send him back to prison immediately. Furthermore, the pedophile is demanded that an official sign "For Sale", explicty from a notary, shines at his house, so everyone must see that this is a serious matter".

Disgusting. Put him behind bars, punish him hard, before someone punishes him hard (which he deserves to be punished very hard).
