Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
You get a signal if an anomaly is detected but it needs a professional to tell you if it is worth digging for.
I am none too sure this chancer was even at the right house, Tony - he may well have been trespassing on a totally different property.
This is Bushmeat and Pete all over again, except this attention-seeking ghoul has been aided and abetted by CdM.

I have used one of the machines and I am telling you the anomaly is more than two feet.
So where did they hire The Digger? You don't dig Five feet in a hurry.

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
Sabot, I don't even think that that is Mrs Murat's property which is supposedly being ground-scanned or whatever in that video.
I cannot get the video to marry with the reality:
http://regretsandramblings.com/2012/03/22/murats-home/
And there is absolutely no way at least two intruders went scrunching about on gravel FOUR TIMES without the enormous guard dogs hearing the trespassers.
IMO, the whole thing is a crock of sh*t.
Why this attempt to disrupt the work of Porto PJ and Scotland Yard has been launched right now is another matter, and one for the police.
I really do think the Portuguese authorities have to step in and stop this nonsense. And TELL CdM to print an apology on their front page.

There was no digging. It is just a radar image of the subsoil. And it was only a maximum of 2 feet not five feet.
But you do raise an interesting question. If Pat Brown went digging for the actual body why did this fellow simply flee the country and not dig himself?
He seemed afraid of getting arrested for trespass but was willing to go back to Portugal if a body was found. Well why didn't he dig and find it then?

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
Because his part of the deal was to lurk around in the dark, in possibly the wrong garden, smear Murat and the McCanns all over again, while praising Amaral, and then get out of the way before this garbage was released to the media?
Bear in mind, Expresso interviewed him at Lisbon airport, so this story has been on hold for a good few days.
It's been organised from the start, IMO. By whom, exactly, and with what motives, exactly, we can only guess at.
The Portuguese authorities really have to get to the bottom of this - and do something about their irresponsible press. This is worse than anything that has come up at Leveson.

Hope you can make something of this, Tony, I don't know what I am looking at.
I am giving myself eyestrain trying to make the garden in the video match Murat's property - and failing.

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
Greenink, I meant where did The McCanns hire a Digger if they buried her five feet down in Murat's garden. Although I appreciate that there is some dispute over the depth. But two feet would have been no problem for Mrs. Murat's Guard Dogs. Or Eddie, I would have thought.
It sounds to me as though Translation has turned 60 inches into 60 centimetres as Portugal doesn't have inches.

The original is definitely centimetres, Sabot.

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
I wonder how much this is going to cost Birch and CdM in damages to the Murat family?
Libel it most assuredly is, as Birch and CdM are claiming that Madeleine McCann's body was buried on Murat's property, near the house, in a shallow grave.
Because it would have been noticed by the residents, and their dogs, that the ground had been dug up, and smelled pretty bad.
Birch and CdM are accusing Murat all over again. As the UK press no doubt can see, which is why they are not telling readers where this discovery has supposedly been made.

No, Birch himself says clearly on the video "between 400mm (15 inches) and 650mm (25 inches). The 60 inches reference wherever that is, is the one that is completely wrong.
So no digger needed. But as I agreed above 2 big dogs and a pebbly path might have been a bit messed up with a body at that depth.

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
You know, it has to be Robert Murat who is the target of this, there's no-one else it could be.
He, his mum and his dogs would have noticed if someone had dug a shallow grave on their premises, near to their house = he is the target of this garbage.

Bear in mind that the alleged '60 cm' is WITH the gravel. When this supposed 'burial' took place, it would be even shallower.

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
But Tony, who seems to know what he is talking about, says that the Scan shows much deeper.
This also seems to be near The Swimming Pool so could be some sort of Drain which would be buried more than two feet down.

Re: Amaral denies CdM 'story'
Sabot, I don't think that is even Murat's property. This story has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese, and IMO has been concocted purely to sh*t-stir.
Look at the way the forkers are now issuing demands like:
Re: Investigator ensures that Maddie's body in the backyard of Murat
Gillyspot Today
You would think innocent people whose daughter had been abducted would be insisting on it being fully investigated (whatever it is) not simply saying we have no comment on it.
Don't they want closure & Madeleine found?
Nasty, sick, ghouls.
I hope the Portuguese police find out who is really at the back of this garbage. I am sure we all have one or two ideas who planned and planted this sh*t.
Tony, you know what it DOES look like - that abandoned villa Amaral was photographed at.
I will try to find some pix for comparison, but I agree, it doesn't look like Murat's property.

It's not The Front Gate, and it doesn't look like the new Back Gate either. There aren't any trees overhanging either Gate.

Walking alongside the waste ground, he enters a narrow street called Rua da Escola Primaria. “This is where there was a significant sighting of a man carrying a child in his arms,” he said. “He was seen by a witness, Martin Smith from Ireland.”
The man with the child continued down the hill and would have come to a crossroads. Opposite the junction is an empty villa with a large garden. The wooden door leading to the garden is open.
“It was open at the time and the villa is still empty,” Mr Amaral said. “My officers spent a lot of time here.”

I am 99% certain it is the back gate of Murats property. The overhanging trees could be directly above the camera man.
And the door could be to the pumphouse which would be under the terrace round the pool, if the pool is above the level of the rest of the garden which it probably is on that very steep road.
