I generally don't believe in the death penalty either, Pedro, but there are one or two I would make an exception for.

Well, not even really the death penalty, more like treating them as a rabid dog would be treated.

I don't know what I said. I don't believe in the Death Penalty. Is that okay? I do not believe in gratuitous violence. Not even for Goncalo Amaral. Although there is always a vague possibility that I might make an exception in his case.

Oh, I want him to have a very, very long life, so he has lots of time to reflect on the harm he did to innocent people. The tide turned long ago for him, and it's downhill all the way now, to mix metaphors....

I don't normally believe in the death penalty, I don't think it is even a deterrent, but some crimes are so evil, the perpetrator, IMO, has no more rights than a mad dog.

And this is one of them.

Shot PCs: Dale Cregan Charged With Murder
A 29-year-old man is charged with the murders of PCs Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone, who were killed in Greater Manchester

Dale Cregan has been charged with the murders of two policewomen who were shot and killed after responding to a routine call in Greater Manchester.

The 29-year-old is also accused of killing David Short, 46, and his 23-year-old son Mark, who died in separate attacks earlier this year.

He also faces three charges of attempted murder.

PCs Nicola Hughes, 23, and 32-year-old Fiona Bone, were shot after being called out to an apparent burglary in Mottram, Tameside, on Tuesday.

PC Bone died at the scene, while PC Hughes was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

The charges were announced at a news conference by Nazir Afzal, the Crown Prosecution Service's chief prosecutor for north west England.

He said the deaths of the two officers had "shocked and appalled the whole country".

Cregan will appear at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Police are continuing to question 28-year-old Stephen Garvey, who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
