MADDIE MCCANN PRIVATE EYES OF
Sunday October 28,2012
By James Murray and Tracey Kandohia
KATE and Gerry McCann are no longer employing private detectives to search for their missing daughter Madeleine.
They are pinning all hopes of finding their child on Scotland Yard detectives who are conducting an “investigative review” of evidence but have yet to make a breakthrough.
The Sunday Express understands the McCanns stopped using former police detectives Dave Edgar and Arthur Cowley some months ago when their contract ran out.
While they worked on the case they built up a good relationship with Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leicestershire, who felt they applied sound common sense to their inquiries in Britain and Portugal.
“There was no fall-out,” said a source. “They did the work as required and got on well with Kate and Gerry. Their contract simply came to its natural end.
“It was felt the lead should be taken by the Scotland Yard detectives working on the review. Dave and Arthur passed over all their material to the Yard officers.” There has been no mention of the decision to end the contract on the McCanns’ findmadeleine website, which still states:
The majority of the fund money has been and continues to be spent on investigative work to help find Madeleine.
“Additionally money continues to be spent on the wider ‘Awareness Campaign’, reminding people that Madeleine is still missing and to remain vigilant.”
The fund has been bolstered by at least £1million raised from Kate’s bestselling book Madeleine.
It was published in May 2011 shortly after the fourth anniversary of her eldest child’s disappearance from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.
At the book’s launch, GP Kate, 44, said: “While she remains missing, the onus is on us to keep looking for her. Investigations and campaigns cost money, which has to be raised by us.
“Every penny we raise through the sales of this book will be spent on our search for Madeleine. Nothing is more important to us.”
Then, after successfully lobbying David Cameron, Scotland Yard was called on to conduct the review using some of the force’s best murder detectives.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who leads the review codenamed Operation Grange, said earlier this year he believed Madeleine, then three, had been snatched by a stranger and could be alive.
At that time his team was following 195 potential new leads. Portuguese police chiefs, who head all global investigations, have refused officially to re-open the case, although some officers have been assigned to assist the Yard.
In August, Met Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe appeared to cast doubt on the review’s future when he said he would ask David Cameron how long he would fund it for.
However, there was good news last week when the Home Office said there was no deadline on the work being conducted in secrecy by detectives.
A spokesperson said: “We have no plans to end the funding and the review into the search for Madeleine will continue.” It is thought it will have cost £2.5million by the end of the year.

Yes, they seem rivetted by it, Sabot.
Given that even the headline is only semi-literate, and makes no sense, it might better have been taken with a pinch of salt, but hey ho!
At least it's stopped some of them dribbling about peedos [sic].
You would think that, by now, they would have learned not to take what's in the media as Gospel truth, but seemingly not.
None of them have even noticed this:

J B Littlemore @JBLittlemore
@CrazyHorser I can read, hence my questions. So why does FM website contradict re investigators as per ref in Express? #McCann
Wouldn't the forker be better occupied asking the Express? And while the forker is at it, they can also ask the Express why they can't even spell the word 'OFF' or the surname of one of the article's authors?

Some sub has tried to sort out the headline:
MADDIE MCCANN PRIVATE EYES CALLED OF
'Called of' what, pray tell? Was the sub playing Call of duty at the same time as he/she posted that?
Excuse me if I don't pay too much heed to anyone who can't even spell
OFF

Re: Express: MADDIE MCCANN PRIVATE EYES OF [sic]
Is this the same person? Of so, she's been 'done' by the PCC. Not exactly ethical is she? LL
COMPLAINANT NAME:
Mrs Gill Faldo
CLAUSES NOTED: 10
PUBLICATION: The Sun
COMPLAINT:
Mrs Gill Faldo of Berkshire complained that a journalist from The Sun had sought to obtain information about her in breach of Clause 11 (Misrepresentation) of the Code of Practice.
The complaint was upheld.
The complainant said that the journalist, Tracey Kandohla, had turned up at the complainant’s house and pretended to the housekeeper that she was a friend of the complainant who was desperate to contact her. The complainant was abroad at the time but the journalist was invited into the house and chatted with the housekeeper about the complainant’s new home. Shortly afterwards an article appeared about the house including an estimate of its worth and details of its interior. The complainant found this article intrusive.
The newspaper said that while the journalist had not said that she was a journalist she had not claimed to be a friend and at no time was she asked whether she was a journalist. Furthermore, her name would have been familiar to Mrs Faldo so there was no question of her impersonating somebody else in order to gain information.
DECISION:
Upheld
ADJUDICATION:
It was clear to the Commission that, in not revealing that she was a journalist, Ms Kandohla had allowed a misleading impression of who she was to develop. The housekeeper had been given no reason to believe that Ms Kandohla was a journalist and consequently she discussed the complainant and allowed Ms Kandohla access to her house, something she would not have done had she known Ms Kandohla’s identity. The Commission could understand the complainant’s irritation and upset at the journalist’s behaviour and upheld the complaint.

Yes, LL. She seems to have calmed down since she left the Sun, but don't ask me what that illiterate, sloppy, nonsense is about. As soon as I see stories have come from a Source, I tend to dismiss them; for all anyone knows, the Source is the milkman.
Never mind, it's keeping the McCann-haters happy, giving them lots to speculate about.
And it's driven Bennett to new libel.

Excuse me, but when 'last week' did that happen? I cannot recall that event at all.

Well done Mr. Dave Edgar, Mr. Arthur Cowley for their awsome effort in the search for Madeleine McCann.

Interesting to observe that the forkers and hounders have decided that every word of that illiterate nonsense must be TROO and have been ranting ever since it appeared.
They'll never learn.

Re: Express: MADDIE MCCANN PRIVATE EYES OF [sic]
Astoundingly, some of the Gullible People have been asking, What does it mean? Why is this appearing now?
It didn't occur to a single one of them that the Express had a few column inches left unfilled despite all the Jimmy Savile Sex Fiend stories, so shoved in that nonsense.
You really would think they would have learned by now, but seemingly not. Ah well, it keeps them out of mischief.

Re: Express: MADDIE MCCANN PRIVATE EYES OF [sic]
After the horror of the last five years is it likely that The McCanns or Scotland Yard are going to inform the crowd of just what investigations are being done?
One Investigator stalked to his home half way up a Welsh Mountain despite his ill health. Both of them stalked around Knutsford. Lies galore around Metodo3. Brian Kennedy stalked to his home and his office. Ed Smethurst stalked all over the place and set up on FaceBook. Who on earth would want to tell that lot anything?
