Two Scottish cousins have been interrogated by British police in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and are suspects in the disappearance of Vargas.

Two convicted Scottish paedophiles, Charles O’Neill, aged 48 and William Lauchlan aged 34, who were jailed last year for child sex abuse and the murder of a mother who threatened to expose them, have been interrogated by British police in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in May 2007, in Praia da Luz in the Portuguese Algarve. It is known that these two Scottish prisoners are considered suspects in the disappearance of Yeremi Vargas, which occurred in Vecindario in March 2007.

The boy’s mother, Ithaisa Suàrez, expressed her fear that both men could be connected to the disappearance of her son. The two paedophiles are serving a 56 year sentence for the murder of Allison Mcarrigle, who had threatened them with making public the abuse her son had been submitted to. Ex boxer O'Neill and Lauchlan strangled Allison in Largs, Ayrshire, before throwing her body, which has never been found, into the sea. In addition, they were sentenced for having abused a boy in Benidorm (Alicante) and in Scotland. But what connects them to the disappearance of Yeremi Vargas is that they both arrived in Gran Canaria to clean houses, apartments and bungalows belonging to tourists and locals from the gay scene in the Playa del Inglés area since the end of 2006. They first occupied a bungalow where they lived with a 14 year old boy.

They were handed a further 10 years each for abusing two boys aged six and 14.
The pair had been jailed in 1988 over 31 charges of drugging and assaulting young children but were freed in 2002.
They fled to Spain and set up a cleaning business for holiday apartments.
They travelled to Portugal several times.
In April 2004 they abducted, drugged and abused a 15-year-old English boy in Spain.
O’Neill was still there three years later when seven-year-old Spanish Jeremy Vargus vanished from Gran Canaria.

Two months later Maddie went missing — and O’Neill was thought to be on the Algarve at the time.
Jeremy’s mother Ithaisa Suarez, 24, and Kate, 41, from Rothley, Leics, have written to each other regularly.
Kate and Gerry have also included information about the Jeremy case on their website.
Last night the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell confirmed: “Investigators have been fully aware of O’Neill and his background but have not been able to take him any further forward as an active line of investigation.”

TWO paedophile murder suspects are being investigated over the disappearance of a boy on the island of Gran Canaria.
Yeremi Vargas, seven, vanished in March from Vecinardio – where child sex abusers Charles O’Neill, 44, and William Lauchlan, 30, have set up home.
After the Sunday Mail revealed the pair had moved into the town, police have focused the Yeremi inquiry on them.
The fiends were once charged with murdering a woman due to give evidence against them.
O’Neill and Lauchlan, who have both served jail sentences in Scotland for prolonged abuse of young boys, run a cleaning business, Rainbow Cleaning Services, in Gran Canaria.
Our story exposed how unsuspecting parents were letting the perverts into their holiday homes.
A police source on the island said yesterday: “These men are under investigation. It’s natural that any known paedophiles would be looked at in the disappearance of a young boy.”
Former boxer O’Neill was jailed for eight years and Lauchlan for six years for subjecting six boys aged between 11 and 15 to systematic abuse over five years.
The pair, formerly of Largs, Ayrshire, were also charged with the murder of mum-of-three Alison McGarrigle, from Rothesay, Bute, who disappeared in 1997.
She was due to give evidence against them on the child sex charges.
The murder charge was made after O’Neill allegedly boasted he had killed Alison, 40, and fed her remains “to the fishes”. But the case was never brought to trial.
Expats and holidaymakers on Gran Canaria were shocked when we revealed the pair’s presence on the island.
Resident Neil Phillips said: “When these two arrived, I knew something wasn’t right.
“One teenage guy left their business after a few months because he wasn’t comfortable with some of the suggestions they were making to him.”
Another resident, Stefan Marsh, said: “Many who have read the article, including people who live here as well as holidaymakers have been alarmed.”
No one was available for comment from the Yeremi Vargas inquiry team on Gran Canaria.
Strathclyde Police say the Alison McGarrigle case remains open.

Makes you wonder why the PJ never followed up this line of enquiry more, it seems that they are so incompetent and because Amoral put all his eggs in framing the McCanns, any chance of finding Madeleine vanished along with the evidence Amoral threw in the bin

They are now asking for information about the group from owners whose properties overlook the Praia da Luz apartment where Madeleine stayed.

God, what a horror story. This has brought back a memory that I had forgotten, and would rather not think about. Someone gave me some information, only half proven, that I didn't entirely believe, and certainly didn't do anything about. Apart from the fact that it was too late anyway.
Sadly, some other things have now fallen into place, things that I didn't know about at the time, although I doubt that anyone was murdered.
This isn't a confession of conscience, only an aknowledgement of how easy it is to deceive people like me.
