I see Guedes is now trying to spin this to suit her own agenda. Someone should tell her she isn't speaking to a bunch of thicko forkers now, that other people can read, and don't need the likes of her to 'interpret' anything.

If the Portuguese judges can see through what happened with Mr Murat then this can only open the flood gates to further actions by any of the tapas 9 who may have been defamed by the PJ or the Press.

I will not soil my eyes by reading Amaral's so-called book. Someone PLEASE tell me that Amaral didn't put the "sex with a cat" claim in his book? If he did, then I hope that Murat takes the appropriate action - if there is anything left after Kate and Gerry McCann have finished with him and his brother, and the PT Tax authorities have been paid out

Oh yes, he did, and more besides. Gonc thoroughly smears just about everyone associated with Robert Murat. Maybe he was in a bad mood that day, as that chapter opens with him dumping the dead family pet in a rubbish bin.

Horrible man. IMHO, of course.

so there is no room for any doubt what Gonc thinks of Robert Murat.

And yes, it would be poetic justice if Mr Murat also dragged Gonc's sorry hide into a Portuguese courtroom.

It makes you wonder what on earth he thought he was doing. The lies and libel against The McCanns are at least related to his opinion of the investigation, and the fact that they pissed him off somewhat. But what did Murat ever do to deserve that sort of treatment? It is simply salacious, and without any purpose.

Maybe this was Gonc's idea of 'investigating'?

1. Decide who DONE IT.

2. Throw as much dirt at them as possible via the tabloids.

3. Do a bit of investigating - if you find anything which suggests you are targeting the wrong person, ignore it, and make up some other 'evidence', possibly involving body language or the choice of clothing colour.

4. Get your goon squad involved by - telling them to write 'books' which are one lie after another; going on Portuguese daytime telly to explain to the nation why 'body language' proves guilt; writing blogs lamenting the good old days when suspects didn't complain when they fell down those dangerous police station stairs.

5. Make sure Goon Cristovao has 'dossiers' on anyone in the judiciary who might be inclined to remind you of the need for boring things like evidence.

6. Make sure idiotic female bloggers tell the world you are a Prince among men, even after you've been taped threatening to kill your girlfriend and her family.

7. If any or all of the above fails to get you your own way, sulk, muttering about your 'honour'.

The Lisbon Court of Appeal has ordered the newspaper Correio da Manhã to pay compensation of €15,000 to Robert Murat an early arguido in the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

According to the court, the newspaper built up a picture of Murat as having an "unhealthy personality, not only in the area of ​​pedophilia but also zooerastia, consistent with the practice of criminal offenses related to the disappearance of unfortunate child."

The compensation for the violation of Murat's right to peace and quiet will be paid by the three journalists who put their names to the story, and the media company that owns the newspaper.

Madeleine McCann disappeared from the apartment where she was on holiday with her parents and twin brothers at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, Lagos, on the evening of May 3, 2007.

A few days later, Robert Murat, a Briton and long term, Algarve resident who lived a few meters from the tourist complex and had made himself available to help the child's parents as a translator, became a suspect.

Correio da Manhã wrote an article referring to Murat as "a predator" who accessed websites depicting scenes of sexual violence.

"This is the 33 year-old Englishman that the Judicial Police believes has taken little Maddie from the bed where she slept in the Ocean Club, to the house where he lives with his mother," ran the sensationalised account written at a highly-charged time early in the investigation.

Murat was an official arguido until July 21, 2008, when the prosecutor decided to drop the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

As a result of the newspaper’s reportage, Murat had to disguise himself when going out as he had received threatening phone calls and letters. Far worse was the way the newspaper had made him out to be a sexual deviant and by implication responsible for Madeleine McCann's dissappearance.

In 2008 Robert Murat received a High Court settlement in London of £600,000 from the British tabloids for defamation, this latest award in Lisbon for ‘moral damages’ reflects the treatment Murat received in the pages of one of Portugal's best-selling newspapers.

The earlier apologies and damages in the UK were claimed from Express Newspapers titles the Daily Express, Sunday Express and Daily Star; Associated's Daily Mail, London Evening Standard and Metro; MGN's Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and Daily Record; and News International's Sun and News of the World. Outside the London high court, Murat said: "The newspapers in this case brought about the total and utter destruction of mine and my family's life and caused immense distress." A similar claim has now been successful in Portugal.

Robert Murat gave an exclusive interview last Sunday to the Sunday Express which made the front page. 'Bring Them All Back to Portugal' was a demand for the police to bring the McCanns and their friends, the 'Tapas 9,' back to Luz to take part in a reconscontruction of events that led up to Madeleine's disappearance.

Kate McCann visited the Algarve last week on the occassion of her daughter's birthday. She went to the church of Nossa Senhora da Luz to pray for the return of her daughted and spent a few days in Praia da Luz at a friend's house.

It's days now since this story broke - and not a word from Morais. How very odd - something on her mind, perchance?

This might explain why Mrs. Murat had that big gate and drive at the back installed, so they could come and go without being followed everywhere.

Ah yes, of course...interesting to see how the truth is starting to come out, isn't it? Morais seems to have forgotten to mention that it was Sources in the PJ who whipped the mob up against Robert Murat.

No wonder Team Gonc has been so desperate to shift the blame onto Jane Tanner and others - it is truly shocking to see the depths of his duplicity being revealed, slowly but surely.

No, he doesn't 'mention' it - he describes it in great detail, along with making other suggestive remarks about Murat and others.

And we now know that that witness statement had barely been made when somehow flew off Gonc's desk and into the waiting arms of Portuguese tabloid reporters - as did so much else.

She seems to forget she isn't in the company of forker thickos now.

Something else that fascinates me is the Cult of Personality that centres around Gonc - that's a thing that is almost peculiarly Fascist, IMO, Sabot.

This bizarre business of calling him 'Big Rock', of being convinced that he is the Strong Man with a Will of Iron who is going to reward that endless tick-tocking, the hilarious Xmas card videos of adoration.....

Now, I know it reminds us of a bunch of geriatric groupies swooning over some faded idol, but it is more of a political phenomenon, IMO. It ties in with their inability to face reality and take responsibility; they've convinced themselves that the Incredible Shrinking Gonc is somehow going to whip out that Ace and make everything better for them.

Incidentally, the deepening silence from the McCann-haters about this judgement is telling its own story.

Doesn't she want the shrooms to know about the PJ passing confidential allegations about Murat to CdM - the very same confidential info that Gonc repeated in such prurient detail in his 'book'?

II - The fact that certain information about the private lives of citizens raise the public interest in terms fácticos does not mean that its disclosure would be of public interest in normative terms.

Bennett and the rest of them never did manage to grasp that, did they?

Guedes would have been well advised to keep quiet - it's glaringly obvious that the material published in the Portuguese tabloids came straight from the PJ. Or does she expect us to believe that the 'convict' she's tried to blame knew all the ins and out of the-then investigation?

And WHY does she keep telling porkies? What's she so desperate to cover up?

It is interesting to see her blatant disregard and contempt for the forkers.

The past few days have been an eye-opener, Lily. I won't even attempt to understand googlespeak's version of Portuguese law, which is confusing at the best of times, but it's obvious to a blind man that the filth that was printed about Murat WAS COMING FROM THE PJ.

It seems, as far as I can make out, that the person who invented it to begin with was dealt by the courts some time back....

But details about what the PJ, with computers, etc., were doing COULD ONLY HAVE COME FROM THE PJ.
