Gonçalo Amaral no longer has the physical presence he once had, particularly when he was featured across the world’s media as he tried to find Madeleine. Now appearing meek, painfully thin and quietly spoken Amaral is showing the sign of living under extreme stress for that last three years since his book on the McCann case was banned. While Kate McCann spent this May 3rd 2013 in quiet reflection in the Algarve it will come as no surprise to observers that Amaral’s team are considering an end to the legal wrangling with a more favourable agreement.

Though I don't agree that Amaral will be in the least bit 'haunted' by failing Madeleine McCann; he wrote her off as dead right from the start, and decided her parents DID IT as early as the morning of May 4th, as is clear from reading his 'book'.

Amaral having to face his investigative shortcomings and flawed reasoning is the driving force behind his desire to settle out of court.

Ah yes. If he settles, then his ridiculous Fridge Theory will not be publically torn to shreds, and he can continue to turn up on daytime telly with Sargento, doing their Crime Expert act.

Surely even his most devoted fans cannot delude themselves that Gonc is in any fit state to withstand a libel trial, and the public humiliation it is likely to bring?

Oh dear, the Big Rock Fan Club don't seem too happy. Suddenly, no-one is supposed to pay attention to blogs....

No it isn't. It makes no difference whatsoever to any sane, non-obsessive, as it has nothing to do with their lives.

Why are the forkers in such a state? It is entirely up to them whether they believe it or not; the whole truth is going to come out in the fullness of time, when it suits those directly concerned. Which isn't a bunch of internet forkers.

Anyway, aren't they supposed to be 100% certain that their beloved Gonc would never, ever back down? Don't they trust him or something?

Was Madeleine #McCann seen May 4th 2007 by a number of independent witnesses - was this evidence overlooked in first investigation.

Wouldn't be at all surprised - though 'ignored' is probably a better word.

Can admin tell me why they tweeted information regarding the libel trial ,which they claim they obtained through two reliable sources, yet when a member of this forum begins a thread to discuss the information, the thread is pulled, again and again ? Has admin found out their 'sources' were less than reliable or have they been advised, perhaps via the official campaign from which they sought clarification, that discussion is not 'helpful' at this stage ?

I'll bet it is. Indications are that the whole world is shortly going to learn just what a complete b*lls-up Gonc made, and how many chances he missed to find Madeleine's abductor/s.

If so, there is only one person to blame.
