Oh, and wearing White as well. Are there no standards anymore? Two dead children. Black might have been more appropriate.
Sorry. I'm getting nasty again. Must stop this.

Personally, I think sackcloth and ashes, and going-away outfits with stripey arrows on them, would have been more appropriate, but that's just me.

I thought he might have been. It was the jacket that gave it away. What offing clan is that? I hope it isn't my clan. We half Irish, half Welsh and half Scots do have one, believe it or not.

It'll be some generic commercial tartan, Sabot. I don't think there's a tartan for drunks that 'accidentally' knife their stepsons to death?

Worse things happen at sea, Lily. He will probably get off with Manslaughter. Not even sure that he will get locked up. But she has married him in an attempt to show that she doesn't blame him.
Their relationship is a very odd thing, beyond the bounds of Sex, that is, which I won't bother to go into.
But while I might not accuse some partner of mine of Murder, or possibly even Intent, then I would still be very worried about the level of violence involved in stabbing a very young man. Especially my son. Mahon is a big man, and this did not need to happen. Which leads me to suspect that Mahon was protecting Whatshername. Which could be why this happened.
The whole thing was so suspect. That dreadful little girl was causing such problems, sleeping rough and generally being such a pain in the neck to their ideal life, that I can see her mother losing her temper, with drink taken.
And No, I do not think it was the child's fault. But I have seen some of this sort of thing. And I would never again give house room to a man who stabbed my son to death.
They are both hiding something. But I think it is her.

A HARD hitting TV documentary by investigator Donal MacIntyre is expected to blow open the case of missing expat girl Amy Fitzpatrick.
Retracing Amy’s last steps, MacIntyre met with those who knew the 15-year-old best before she disappeared on New Year’s Day in 2008.
As well as visiting her Mijas Costa home, Irishman MacIntyre spoke with Amy’s best friend Ashley Rose before interviewing Olive Press journalists about the case.
“The Olive Press has done a great job keeping the pressure on and I now hope to finally get to the bottom of this,” MacIntyre said.
In particular, his team probed her lifestyle at the time she went missing, as well as her relationship with her stepfather Dave Mahon, who is currently awaiting trial for the murder of her brother Dean in Ireland.
He added: “Crucially we are trying to establish if she made it home that night and what might have happened.
“THE CASE CERTAINLY GOES DOWN AS ONE OF THE MOST TRAGIC UNSOLVED CRIMES IN EUROPE.”
The documentary will air on CBS Reality in September as part of a 12-part series.
Oh, I don't think anyone would be at all surprised to learn that Amy made it home that night.....I must try to remember to watch that.

I can't remember precisely why, but it seemed to me that she made it home. Her phone was found in her bedroom, but I can't remember if there was any proof that she took it with her when she went out that night.
Oh, didn't Audrey speak to Amy on some telephone late that night?

MISSING Amy Fitzpatrick’s stepdad has been refused bail to travel to Spain.
Dave Mahon has been told he must stay in Ireland, where he awaits trial for the murder of his stepson Dean Fitzpatrick.
Mahon had been granted similar bail in September where he travelled to the Costa del Sol to attend a service for Amy.
However, his bail has been denied this time, with Detective Eddie Carroll concerned that Mahon was a ‘flight risk’.
He had been applying for a two-week visit to Spain to meet old friends on the Costa del Sol.

Dave Mahon to be sentenced for manslaughter of his stepson
Dean Fitzpatrick died from stab wounds in 2013.
DAVE MAHON IS due to be sentenced for the manslaughter of his stepson later today.
The 45-year-old Dubliner was found guilty of killing Dean Fitzpatrick – the older brother of missing teenager Amy Fitzpatrick – earlier this month.
He was cleared of murdering the father of one on 26 May 2013, instead being found guilty of manslaughter.
The 23-year-old received a stab wound to the abdomen outside the apartment that his mother, Audrey Fitzpatrick, shared with Mr Mahon at Burnell Square, Northern Cross.
The State argued that the 45-year-old accused was drunk, angry and agitated when he thrust a knife into his stepson with deadly intent. Mahon claimed his death was an accident or possible suicide and that Mr Fitzpatrick had ‘walked into the knife’ while they had been arguing.
Following eight hours and 16 minutes of deliberation over three days, the jury returned with a majority verdict of 10 to two. The foreman’s hand was shaking as he handed the issue paper to the registrar.
She read aloud: “You say the accused is not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter.”
It was less than 20 minutes after they had been given the option to reach a majority verdict by the presiding judge.
Mahon’s counsel applied for bail for his client, pointing out that he had lived in Spain after the incident but had returned home to be charged. The State objected and the judge remanded him in custody for sentencing today.
Family relations
The two-week trial heard that Mahon had been in a relationship with Audrey Fitzpatrick for 12 years by the time her son died.
The couple had moved to Spain’s Costa del Sol with her children, Dean and Amy, in 2004. Mr Mahon worked as an estate agent. He told gardaí that they were millionaires, with eight or nine houses and bars, but that they had spent it all looking for Amy.
The teenager went missing without trace on New Year’s night 2008 as she walked home from a friend’s house along an unlit dirt track. Despite extensive searches, she has never been found.
Deceased a father of one
The deceased was 17 when his sister vanished. He moved home to Dublin soon after turning 18 and lived with his father, Christopher Fitzpatrick. He met his partner, Sarah O’Rourke, in 2010. They had a son together and lived in Lusk in the north of the county.
Mahon and Audrey Fitzpatrick returned to Ireland more recently and the court heard that they have married since Mr Fitzpatrick was killed.
The trial heard that the deceased had psychological issues, had begun misusing drugs at the age of 11 and had self harmed.
Personal problems
Ms O’Rourke gave evidence that he used to take ‘relaxers’. She also testified that she had asked him to move out just days before he died, because he was selling tablets. She saw him with a black eye the morning of the fatal row; he said he had owed someone money.
A quarter of an hour before the fatal row, she sent him a text saying she was with someone else ‘to hurt him’.
His father gave evidence that he was troubled during the last week of his life.
“There was stuff going on with his girlfriend,” he said, adding that, as far as he was aware, the deceased couldn’t see his child.
“Also, his sister was missing,” he explained.
The accused told gardaí that he and Mr Fitzpatrick had ‘an up and down’ relationship. However they had joined a gym together and both attended separately the day before the row. The deceased saw his stepfather’s bicycle parked outside and took the plastic water bottle off it to annoy him. It worked.
Staff in the gym said there was nothing they could do unless he reported it to gardaí but he said he wouldn’t do that over a water bottle. He decided instead to contact his stepson.
Drinking heavily
He spent much of the next day drinking and phoning Mr Fitzpatrick. Records showed several unanswered calls. Ms O’Rourke said that Mahon threatened to stab her in the neck if she didn’t get her partner to call him back.
He eventually convinced him to come to his apartment. CCTV showed him enter the building at 11.06pm and Mahon leave seven minutes later.
It’s not known if the deceased noticed the photographs of his sister and Mahon’s late mother strewn on the floor. Other family photographs and certs Amy had given the couple were found behind the building.
Mahon said that his stepson had pulled a knife on him in the apartment and that he had wrestled it from him and put it into his pocket. He said the deceased had left but that he followed him out and took the knife out to show it to him. He said Mr Fitzpatrick had walked into it.....more at link.
I wonder if his missing sister Amy 'walked into a knife', too?

Hmm. I know what I think. That mother is a disgrace. It was her daughter that was being neglected, if not worse.
But Only the length of the sentence will tell us what The Judge thinks.
PS. Did the other two Jurors think it was Murder?

Dave Mahon sentencing postponed for two weeks after being found guilty of killing missing Amy Fitzpatrick’s brother

DAVE Mahon’s sentencing has been pushed back until June 13.
The judge has postponed today’s sentencing after hearing several victim impact statements.
Mahon’s lawyer confirmed that he will not be appealing the guilty verdict for manslaughter against his stepson Dean Fitzpatrick.
Cleared of murder charges, a jury ruled Mahon was guilty of manslaughter last month.
At the trial a statement on behalf of Audrey Fitzpatrick said she had ‘forgiven’ her husband for killing her son.
“David will always be her husband, carer and best friend,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, Dean Fitzpatrick’s father Christopher, in victim impact statement, said there are ‘no words to describe his pain, anger and despair’.
The prosecutor had argued that the 45-year-old former Mijas resident was drunk and ‘deliberately’ thrust the knife into his stepson with ‘deadly intent’.
However, the jury sided with the defence, which argued that Dean Fitzpatrick had ‘walked into the knife’ while they were arguing outside the home in 2013.
Amy Fitzpatrick disappeared on New Years Day 2008 after walking home from her friends house in Mijas.

Wife of man who killed her son says she has forgiven him for what he did
David Mahon is married to Dean Fitzpatrick's mother, Audrey

The wife of a Dublin man who killed her son says she has forgiven him for what he did - but says it will never be forgotten.
Earlier this month, David Mahon was convicted of stabbing Dean Fitzpatrick to death outside his apartment at Northern Cross in May 2013.
Mr Mahon has been in custody since his conviction on May 6th and he was brought back to court today for his sentence hearing.
The 45-year-old admitted holding the knife that caused Dean Fitzpatrick’s death three years ago, but claimed his stepson walked onto the blade.
Dean’s sister Amy has not been seen since she went missing in Spain in 2008. They had moved there with their mother Audrey and Mr Mahon.
In his victim impact statement, Dean’s father Christopher said his world came crashing down once again when he learned of his son’s death.
He said no words could describe the anger, pain and despair he feels.
Audrey said her life is now a living nightmare, but she said she forgives her husband for what he did and does not think she is strong enough to cope without him.
Mr Mahon’s barrister asked for leniency, describing the offence as on the lower end of the scale of seriousness.
A sentence will be handed down on Monday week.

Re: DAVE MAHON CHARGED WITH MURDERING DEAN FITZPATRICK, BROTHER OF MISSING AMY
I have no real idea of what went on in that dysfunctional family, Lily. But that child was seriously neglected, and obviously very unhappy.
And no matter my own personal problems there is no way in which any child of mine would have been treated so badly.
That woman is a disgrace. Bugger him. I don't care what happens to him. But he then went on to kill his other step child.
I hope that she has a very long time alone to think about how very badly she let them down.
