Online ‘trolls’ terrorize the grieving

So, as we suspected, it is people who resent what they think they are entitled to without any of the effort that leads to any kind of success.
Hard to understand as I am ever grateful for what I have, and don't suffer from jealousy. But what sorry lives they must lead.

Yes, their sense of entitlement has often been remarked on, hasn't it? As has their resentment of - well, just about anyone who is successful or happy.

And it's interesting that the report mentions how many are mentally ill, isn't it?

Their inability to interact with normal society is most evident on #mccann. They all seem to have forgotten that Morais started it because she wanted regular contact with the real media, as opposed to Citizen Bloggers.

And what happened was that the Amaral-supporting trolls were so abusive and offensive to said media, that they were rapidly blocked and ignored, having made even more enemies.

Snap-your-neck Spudgun is a perfect example; the whole media world heard about his abuse of Jim Gamble and how he made himself a laughing stock.

In effect, the McCann-hating, Amaral-supporting trolls wreck their own cause more effectively than an army of Carter Ruck lawyers could ever do.

No-one is going to pay any attention to a shower of illiterate, foul-mouthed morons in any kind of good way.

Though they may increasingly find themselves under media and legal scrutiny, and more research papers of this kind are doubtless in the pipeline.

I do like the nicknames for some of the subdivisions of trolls, though - especially SNERTS.

Yes. If they had reported objectively they might just have been taken notice of. Lies and abuse were never going to get any of them anywhere.
But that's the thing. They all desperately wanted to be right, with out a care for truth.

Normal, decent people can see there is something very wrong in their wiring...

Mike Hardy, the ape-like individual from Kent is a moron. He pretended to have "outed" me whereas in fact he was (as usual) LYING.

He seemed to believe that research was done and published in a matter of days or at most weeks proving he has no understanding of academic work whatsoever, but that's hardly surprising when you look at the gibberish he writes.

Internet interaction is, in fact, a massive growth area in academic research and online abuse is quite naturally one aspect of that.
