No, it didn't - stop making up crap. The nasty thing went on sale again on Yuman Rites grounds - not that anyone wants to buy it now.

The libel trial hasn't taken place yet - indeed, it's most unlikely it ever will, between Amoral's health and his eagerness to settle out of court.

Don't they get it? It's Amoral who made the settlement offer but it was the McCanns' legal people who had to apply for the suspension - that's the way the law works.

And in what parallel universe did that happen? He was never off Portuguese daytime TV until his illness - whatever it is - became too apparent.

Not to mention his pantomime in taking Marcos to court, which backfired so badly on him.

He was about as 'low profile' as a Kardashian.

Gonçalo Amaral is currently able to speak freely about the case, and the book can be sold anywhere, as the injunction that effectively banned the book and prevented Mr Amaral from commenting about the case was overturned by the Lisbon Appeals Court. Until the case is tried and a decision reached by the court, Mr Amaral's assets and a relevant part of his income remain frozen.

And when he makes an acceptable settlement offer, he may get some of it back. It might be enough to cover the court costs from his disaster against Marcos.

I guess the real issue is what will GA do once he's won ? Is he prepared to push the issue to cause real damage, or will he walk away ?
