They don't know when Madeleine's posters were destroyed for the SECOND time on the Algarve (April 2009).

Considering the witnesses on Amaral's side - people that were directly involved in the investigation and people that were involved in the Media exposure of the case - until now, there has not been an ounce of objective proof that the defendants (respondants) harmed either the investigation or the welfare of the family -, I think these witnesses are in a better position to testify that whatever the claimants suffered had nothing to do with the publication of a book, a DVd or a TV documentary.

Amaral doesn't have an ace, and this trial is not going to hinge upon the revelation of a smoking gun, or a killer piece of evidence. There will be no Columbo moments that some of you - inexplicably - appear to be hoping for.

Amaral's lawyers will be concentrating on emphasising other contributing factors that caused damage to the McCanns. His lawyers will know that he will be paying damages. The only question is whether they will be nominal or punitive. He's basically on a damage limitation exercise.

Even setting the leap in logic aside, the sniffer dog acolytes still have to face up to the rather inconvenient (for them!) fact that samples were taken from places where the dogs indicated, and after being subjected to state of the art testing, the samples provided nothing of evidential value. I do wonder whether, if it wasn't for the dogs, Amaral would have quite so many sycophantic followers. I'd guess not, which is quite disturbing, when you think about it.

I had begun to despair of that site, as it seemed to consist of nothing but illiterate rubbish of the 'i thkn its cos thei isd octors' kind from the Gonc fan club.

Not to mention posts like that stephen's who has been tying himself in knots trying to prove that he knows something or another about chemistry. Someone comfortable in their knowledge has no need to do that.
