Do the haters have some kind of problem processing simple information? The McCanns were in Lisbon LAST WEEK where they met the PJ to discuss recent developments.

The only person known to us who needs to be worried about the PJ is the disgraced ex-cop Amoral, who may well find himself facing charges of whatever is the Portuguese equivalent of dereliction of duty and gross incompetence.

the innocent McCanns are entitled to travel to wherever they want, Portugal also included.

Oh come on. We were thrilled to see those dastardly McCanns evading the police right under the noses of the media.

The sad case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is even sadder due to have been long destined, it seemed, to generate misunderstandings between Portugal and the United Kingdom .

Starting with the rumor - later unmasked as such by Judicial Police itself , as contained in the files of the case , but that still persists in Portugal - that the girl's parents called for a British television station before the local police have been alerted .

And , in the UK , by the strong belief that gonçalo amaral , Inspector of Judicial Police who led the police investigation into the disappearance of British girl in the early months , was later fired and publicly disgraced by their superiors - even when national director PJ recently testified that he " deserves professional appreciation".

With the recent broadcast of a BBC program about the work of a team from Scotland Yard to review the case , new mutual misunderstandings between the two countries . In British media questioned why the hell was not the program issued in Portugal .

Journalists from the BBC itself called to Lisbon to try to understand the reasons for this alleged refusal of the Portuguese colleagues . The Portuguese Broadcasters however , have suggested here by the right to broadcast it had been sealed . The truth is , once again lost somewhere between the two countries .

Meanwhile , the sessions in the Courthouse in Lisbon 's civil proceedings against the McCanns Amaral , who still , there were days when not a single Portuguese journalist was present .

Meanwhile , a handful of British reporters struggled to understand what was said by the judge and the lawyers in a language they did not understand . The situation seemed to guarantee the emergence of more misunderstandings , rumors and resentment .

Now , with the decision from the attorney general's office to reopen the criminal investigation , the two sides are apparently back in tune .

But it is quite possible that in Portugal the mandatory imposition of secrecy - although Scotland Yard briefings continue on their parallel investigation - will eventually generate the same kind of misunderstandings that generated in the past .
