It's er, rather noisy outside, Lily - I don't think anyone is actually going outside if they can avoid it; most of the nation seems to be laughing in the face of death on #hurricanebawbag.

Re: The Weather Thread
And incredibly, though there has been a lot of damage done, and many areas are without power, so far it seems that there weren't any fatalities, or casualties.

We don't have a problem with such stuff here. It happens, and then it passes. But we do have a lot of trees. We lose the odd one or two, but they do block howling gales.

Weather warnings: Severe gales, floods and snow to batter UK
Early weather warnings have been issued for more storms across Britain in the week ahead with southern and west England expected to be hit the hardest.
The Met Office has warned of a repeat of the windy and wet weather that crippled Scotland and the north of England last week.
On Monday night, heavy downpours and very windy conditions will start to move in across the south and west bringing gusts of 70-80mph and a risk of localised flooding.
Forecasters have predicted damaging winds of up to 100mph in some spots while daytime temperatures will fall to 8C in the south and 4C in the north.
By Wednesday, the winds will start to ease but forecasters have warned that another storm expected on Thursday could hit anywhere in Northern Ireland, North Wales and much of England - and could be much worse.
Forecasters are still monitoring the exact position of the storm.
According to the Met Office, by mid-week temperatures will also take a dip and rain or snow could fall – especially in Scotland and higher ground over southern England giving accumulations of up to 10cm.
Last week saw hurricane force winds shut most schools across Scotland and buildings damaged as gales of up to 165mph were felt across the country – the highest wind speed recorded since 1986.
Met Office forecaster Sarah Holland told Yahoo! News on Monday that low pressure from the Atlantic is causing the unsettled weather.
The Met Office has said that they are watching the weather situation very closely and are advising the public to keep up to date with the week’s forecast.
Gusts of 70-80 mph? Daytime temperatures falling to 8c in the South?
Cissies!!!!!

Re: The Weather Thread
We had a bit of one of they last night. I thought the roof was going to blow off. I was really in need of a cup a tea, but no electricity, hence no Internet, hence no nothing at all, except pitch black and pissing with rain. Must buy batteries for my emergency lighting.
Some minor damage to my garden this morning, but all is calm now and the sun is shining.
