Sabot, the unionist propaganda the BBC is churning out is beyond belief, they really have turned into the Voice of the State. Absolutely shocking, no attempt at neutrality, nothing - as was demonstrated by the hour-long Labour Party broadcast earlier this week.

And some of their anchors are beyond rude; possibly because their jobs are on the line, as there is no way this cosy exercise in nepotism will continue post-independence. Why does there have to be a State broadcaster, anyway?

Sky isn't quite so bad, their Talking Heads are just, well, talking nonsense as they've ignored all this for the last couple of years, so don't actually know what they're on about.

Incidentally, I found out how you get pro-union polls that bear no resemblance to reality.

You only phone people with landlines. Which nowadays means older people who own their own homes, and doesn't take into account hundreds of thousands of younger people and people who only use mobiles.

And even then, half of those phone-polled want to break free.

You know, I just don't see Cameron and co staging such a drama over one poll that gave YES a small lead; I suspect their private polls are telling a very different story.

Scots opinion polls are almost never accurate; they failed to see the gains which gave the SNP a coalition government in 2007, and the gains that gave them an outright majority in 2011. Even funnier, when Blair and co set up Holyrood, they thought they'd fixed it so no-one could ever win an outright majority.

This is the best I can do for you.  

I am working up gradually to reading the papers, and have got as far as the Daily Rangers. They're still frantically clinging onto their 'triumph for Oh No!' poll, which it seems consisted of asking 57 people with landlines what they thought...and still got a rising YES vote. And no, I'm not inventing their 'sample'.

I sincerely hope we don't get Love Bombed again today, it was very headache-inducing, listening to so many proven liars and crooks promising Shiny Beads and Jam Tomorrow.

I saw the tail-end of a Sky report yesterday, saying the pollsters and London politicians are simply ignoring the big council estates which have huge YES majorities, and the main population centres and the cities, except for the green suburban areas.

It's all most peculiar.

The power to secretly create government propaganda is among the many hacking tools revealed in the latest batch of Edward Snowden documents.
British spies can manipulate online polls -- or trick the world into thinking a video or web page is going viral.

A collection of hacking tools -- some of which are specifically suited to spreading disinformation -- were exposed in a leaked 2012 document provided by Snowden to The Intercept. That's the online publication led by Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who worked with Snowden on a series of stories for The Guardian.
The toolkit belongs to the U.S. National Security Agency's British counterpart, the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ for short).

It includes some of what you would expect from a spy agency intent on protecting the United Kingdom from terrorists: the ability to disable target computers, slip into enemy devices to lock their files, send spoof emails that impersonate a sender's address, and cripple websites with denial of service attacks.
But then there's the propaganda machine.
Underpass: a tool that lets the government "change outcome of online polls"
Bomb Bay: can "increase website hits/rankings"
Gestator: provides "amplification of a given message, normally video, on popular multimedia websites"
Gateway: will "artificially increase traffic to a website"
Slipstream: can "inflate page views on websites"

I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I have two friends - yes, TWO - one lives in London and worked until she retired as a senior personal secretary/PA for the head of a Civil Service department, the other one, a few months younger, did an identical job in Edinburgh and later in Glasgow.  The London based one's salary was 25% higher than the other lady.  On retirement the difference was 35% on their pensions.    The London one worked a 32-35 hour week, had 6 weeks paid holiday, the other one worked 40 hours and max holiday was 4 weeks.   That to me would make a case for major changes in government departmental procedures and staff treatment.   LL

The whole set-up is beyond crazy, LL, so that doesn't surprise me. It baffles why the Proud Scots But don't even see that they're being shafted by Westminster, all along the line.

I am genuinely scared of a narrow No win; England is swinging to the Right, and Farage and Boris have both made it crystal-clear that they are going to go out of their way to strip Scotland of money, assets and even our parliament if they can. Today's horror story is RBS threatening to go south. And? They damn near bankrupted EVERYONE, are owned by the government, and are a 'Scottish' bank in name only. Same with the Clydesdale issuing threats - they're Australian.
