Thank you, Pedro.
McCanns ask to be involved in UK phone hacking inquiry
Updated: 09-Sep-2011
Kate and Gerry McCann have been revealed as being on a list of organisations and names who want to be involved in the judicial inquiry into the phone hacking scandal that has blighted the UK journalism industry.
Barrister David Sherborne told the high court that Kate and Gerry McCann wanted to be considered as core participants in the case, which would allow them to be legally represented, make statements and cross examine witnesses.
Judge Lord Justice Leveson said that he expected the inquiry to last for several months.

Oh Dear, this is not going to go down well. It suggests that someone tried to hack The McCanns. Although more likely someone related to Gonc.
There is some possibility that certain people who should not have done, had access to The PJ Data Base.
Just speculating. Allegedly.

I still want to know what PJ employee FSoares was doing hacking into the old 3A database, along with her chums:
To be honest, I am going to make you a confession here: we read the PMs from the 1st hacked database. You may not know the full story, but NBrado has put the database on the internet for download. Of course downloading it, wasn't enough to crack and start reading because NBrado never expected someone else outside his group could crack it, but, with the help of someone who's also a member on this forum, we were able to read it.

I would have thought the morons would have loved to know Kate and Gerry phones were hacked.
The hackers would know what was said, way back in 2007 So I take it nothing detrimental to the McCanns was said in any phone conversation.
Oh my god, unless the News of The World were IN IT?

I watched a documentary about the American whackjobs who think George Bush attacked his own country on 9/11; they sounded exactly like the whackjobs in the McCann-hate lobby, even down to calling themselves, Truthers.
Made no difference, they were still conspiraloon whackjobs.

Hacking inquiry: Core participant status for dozens
Almost 50 alleged victims of media malpractice have been granted the right to be "core participants" in the judicial inquiry into phone hacking.
They include author JK Rowling, actors Hugh Grant and Sienna Miller, and the family of murder victim Milly Dowler.
Core participant status means a person will be represented by a barrister and can seek to cross-examine witnesses and make opening and closing statements.
The inquiry's first stage will examine relations between the press and public.
The 46 who have now become specially interested parties also include the parents of Madeleine McCann, Max Mosley and Paul Gascoigne.
Core participants may also apply for public funding for legal representation.

And here is why they are included, before the muppets start going on about phones...
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/sep/14/leveson-inquiry-full-list-participants?CMP=twt_fd
quote:
Core participants are decided on the basis of whether they:
1. Played, or may have played, a direct and significant role in relation to the matters to which the inquiry relates.
2. Have a significant interest in an important aspect of the matters to which the inquiry relates.
3. May be subject to explicit or significant criticism during the inquiry proceedings or in the report, or in any interim report.

Individuals who believe they may have been victims of media intrusion

That is the list the McCanns are on.....

I wonder if someone in Portugal being paid for passing information to the press, also passed on the McCann's phone number?

No Bonny she shouldn't have. But who's desk were they on, open ready for reading, GONC'S!!
He was perhaps on a promise besides payment. Don't forget Cabrita will do anything for a story. She sleeps with them.

The haters decided Mr Jefferies was guilty because his hair stuck out.
I wonder if Mr Jefferies and the McCanns will be exchanging notes on the obscenity of trial-by-internet? Maybe talking about pitchforkers?

Hugh Grant joins media reforms push
Labour leader Ed Miliband will work with Hollywood star Hugh Grant on media reforms in the wake of the phone hacking scandal.
The actor, who has become a champion for the Hacked Off campaign that is pressing for tougher sanctions and restrictions on the Press, claims some newspapers will be "back to their old tricks" soon and questioned whether Labour MPs would still stand up to the media when the furore had died down.
Mr Grant met the Labour leader to press his case at the party's conference in Liverpool.
A senior Labour source said it was an "excellent meeting".
"Ed expressed his thanks for Hugh's work in the hacked off campaign and they said they would work together in future."
Addressing a Labour conference fringe event, organised by Hacked Off later, he conceded there were "people better qualified" to speak on the issue but went on to say he "humbly" wanted to make a few observations.
That included claiming many national newspapers operated on the same "business model" of "criminal appropriation" of private information as the now defunct News of the World.
He told delegates that as the Press was mainly right-leaning "the ball is in your court".
Referring to Lord Leveson's public inquiry into the scandal he said: "I suspect an awful lot of dirt will come out quite quickly and will continue to amaze the public."
He added that he hoped the "outrage will be kept alive for the duration" of the inquiry.
