Re: America goes to the polls
Fascinating!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/02/20/hillary-clinton-ties-to-corporate-donors-lobbyists-while-secretary-state/
Hillary Clinton's ties to corporate donors, lobbyists while secretary of state scrutinized
The Journal report cites several examples of Clinton promoting eventual donors to the Foundation and its various activities. For example, in October 2012, she lobbied the Algerian government to contract General Electric to build power plants in that country. The following month, the Foundation approached the company about expanding a health-access initiative. An eventual partnership was formed, to which the company contributed between $500,000 and $1 million. The Algerian government awarded GE the power plant contract in September 2013.
Other efforts were less successful. In 2010, Clinton announced cooperation between the U.S. and Poland on a scheme to develop shale gas deposits in eastern Europe. After several years of false starts, Exxon Mobil and Chevron gave up their Polish plans.
In 2012, Clinton persuaded Bulgaria's government to issue a five-year license to Chevron allowing conventional gas exploration. That, too went nowhere. The following year, the Journal reports, Chevron donated $250,000 to the foundation. Exxon Mobil, for its part, has donated at least $18.8 million to various initiatives, including a nonprofit women's group called vital voices.

Re: America goes to the polls
This funding on both sides has got to end and something fair brought in.
I remember when fair meant equal air time from TV stations and a set amount of money to campaign.

I can't remember the exact rules, Lily, but they do still apply in the UK. There are always interminable wrangles at election time because someone's got 30 seconds longer than someone else, etc.

I remember that from my early years, Bonny. That is the fair way as it makes it so difficult for corruption to creep in.

Our lot do still try their best to be corrupt, Lily, but they do seem to get caught doing it much more often than in the US, so this business of the mega-rich literally buying a President doesn't arise.

Re: America goes to the polls
It's shocking, and greed on this scale has made a complete mockery of concepts like democracy, IMO.
If the 2016 election turns into Clinton v. Bush, then you may as well burn the Constitution; voting is just theatre, going through the motions. The UK general election is only weeks away and no-one has a clue what's going to happen; your election is two years away and it seems to be sewn up already.
Oh, one may be a bit to the 'left' and one to the 'right', but for all the difference it will make, it's Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
I would love to see Ron Paul proved right, and States/regions start taking power back from Washington and back where it should be - with the voters.

A digital leak to Al Jazeera of hundreds of secret intelligence documents from the world's spy agencies has offered an unprecedented insight into operational dealings of the shadowy and highly politicised realm of global espionage.
Over the coming days, Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit is publishing The Spy Cables, in collaboration with The Guardian newspaper.
Maybe I just can't see it, but I can't find a Source for any of this. They sound batty enough to be real, but who has done it this time is another matter.

Re: America goes to the polls
http://rt.com/usa/235579-kerry-budget-rt-hearing/
Citing RT’s influence, Secretary of State John Kerry asked US lawmakers for more money for propaganda and “democracy promotion” programs around the world.
“Russia Today (sic) can be heard in English, do we have an equivalent that can be heard in Russian? It’s a pretty expensive proposition. They are spending huge amounts of money,” Kerry told the House Appropriations Subcommittee, apparently forgetting that Voice of America had been broadcasting in Russian since 1947....more at link.
That would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. It's not RT broadcasting in English that is Washington's problem. It's this:
That used to be Tripoli airport.
And this:
That used to be Donetsk airport.
And this:
Those corpses started the day as wedding guests in Yemen, before a US drone strike decided they were 'terrorists'.
The Obama regime in particular has brought once-cherished concepts like 'democracy' into disrepute, leading to the bloodshed and ruin Washington brings being described as 'Freedumb'.
Mayhap Kerry might like to try NOT killing innocent people thousands of miles from America? NOT overturning the governments of sovereign states, and bringing nothing but ruin, chaos, bloodshed and misery? And stop blaming the messenger when the problem is your own message?
PS - how much did the State Department spend on their stupid scheme to topple the Castros with fake radio stations and fake 'twitter'?

Re: America goes to the polls
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/soros-ford-shovel-196-million-to-net-neutrality-groups-staff-to-white-house/article/2560702
iberal philanthropist George Soros and the Ford Foundation have lavished groups supporting the administration’s “net neutrality” agenda, donating $196 million and landing proponents on the White House staff, according to a new report.
And now, as the Federal Communications Commission nears approving a type of government control over the Internet, the groups are poised to declare victory in the years-long fight, according to the report from MRC Business, an arm of the conservative media watchdog, the Media Research Center.
RELATED: GOP retreats on bill to block unprecedented 'net neutrality' regulations
“The Ford Foundation, which claims to be the second-largest private foundation in the U.S., and Open Society Foundations, founded by far-left billionaire George Soros, have given more than $196 million to pro-net neutrality groups between 2000 and 2013,” said the report, authored by Media Research Center’s Joseph Rossell, and provided to Secrets.
“These left-wing groups not only impacted the public debate and funded top liberal think tanks from the Center for American Progress to Free Press. They also have direct ties to the White House and regulatory agencies. At least five individuals from these groups have ascended to key positions at the White House and FCC,” said the report which included funding details to pro-net neutrality advocates. ---more at link.
Why has that PoS Soros never been tried for war crimes? He not only co-operated in the suffering of his fellow Jews, he downright enjoyed it and profited from it, and has never expressed one word of regret.
That profit laid the foundations for the fortune he now uses to spread misery around the world.

Re: America goes to the polls
“What we want to have in the U.S. and in every society is an Internet that is not private property, but a public utility. We want an Internet where you don’t have to have a password and that you don’t pay a penny to use. It is your right to use the Internet.”
And it will be their 'right' to vet every single word, and disconnect anyone that doesn't toe the Party line, get rid of any website they decide offends some minority or other. It's censorship under a progressive cloak.

I don't know why that scumbag is still breathing, Lily. And I put anyone that knowingly takes his money in the same category as him. As a general rule of thumb, if Soros and his endless foundations and NGOs are in favour of something - it's a very bad idea, and will lead to nothing but more misery for the general populace, more State control, and more money for Soros.

He was 13 when the Nazis took over Hungary in 1944 and 14 when the war ended. As a minor he could not be prosecuted for war crimes. LLWhy has that PoS Soros never been tried for war crimes? Bear in mind, Soros threw tens of millions into 'net neutrality'; he didn't do that for the well-being of humanity. And all the sheep have clapped and cheered without bothering to read the small print and grasp they have just handed control of the internet in the US over to the US government.
But hey, at least their favourite YouTubes of Kim Kardashian's backside won't be slowed down.

That's a good round-up - but try not to throw your laptop through the window when you read it, Lily.
Net neutrality is a classic Trojan horse. It will be used not only to censor speech and marginalize opposition to the political class, but will also deliver the internet to large and forever consolidating media corporations.
