It needs read in full to be appreciated, as it's such a perfect example of delusional conspiraloonacy. It includes gems like:
Opening the case prosecutor Alan Blake said: 'This is a 57-year-old barrister with a fascination for politics the military and intelligence.
'In April 2012, he passed on information about a threat of nuclear attack. That information was extraordinary and dramatic.'
Shrimpton called Mr Hammond's office on April 19, 2012, and left a message warning that the nuclear weapon had been stolen from the sunken Russian submarine, the Kursk.
Like so many of his kind, he didn't let small details like 'reality' put him off:
'He said a mass nuclear weapon had entered the UK. He said four other weapons were removed from the submarine Kursk when it sank and he explained one had been obtained by the German terrorist organisation DVD.
'He said one of the weapons caused the tsunami disaster in Japan.'

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
I like the cut of the judge's jib:
The judge said: 'I have no idea where this is going. You have been a barrister for a number of years and you cannot use witnesses as part of your speeches. They are here to answer questions.
'I will not have conspiracy theories bandied around the court unless they are genuinely real.
'You must control yourself.
'The guillotine is very close to your neck.'

For the benefit of stupid haters, there are indeed real conspiracies, as opposed to conspiraloon imaginings. A real conspiracy would be something like Hunter Biden and Burisma.
For the benefit of the one-handed typists, that does NOT involve a reality TV star and an under-age Latina....

At the outset Mr Shrimpton, for the defendant, made a submission that the prosecution was an abuse of process. There was no basis in fact or law for this submission and I rejected it.

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
If anyone is feeling a bit depressed on this damp, dreary day, I heartily recomment reading that court report - especially bearing in mind Shrimpton's other antics and bizarre inventions.
He said the German Defence Service, DVD, was responsible for sabotaging the Kursk and stated the service now controls Al Qaeda and has penetrated MI5 and MI6.
Shrimpton refused to reveal his sources but said they included 'someone in Munch who lunches with the Pope.'
He called his arrest a colossal c**k-up worthy of an apology, damages and lunch on the MI5, and claimed the weapon had been taken back out of the UK while he had been in custody by the Royal Navy, which moved it to Germany, and it could be used against New York.

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
Shrimpton asked Mr Burton if an E3 plane is capable of carrying detectors which can pick up nuclear warheads but Mr Burton replied: 'I don't know.'
Shrimpton said: 'Someone at the Cabinet Office grounded the E3's'.
That is classic conspiraloon tactics. Invent something utterly ridiculous, and when asked to explain why you have made such a ridiculous utterance, blame the Powers That Be. Never, ever admit you're just an attention-seeking lunatic.

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
Today, prosecutor Alan Blake asked him: ‘Do you accept lots of people claim to be involved in intelligence but aren’t and lots of them can be fantasists, nutters or liars?’
To which Shrimpton replied: 'Yes'.

Shrimpton also told the court that he formerly worked on the investigation into Madeleine McCann’s disappearance and the case of former Chilean president Augusto Pinochet.
No, he didn't, he churned out the ridiculous 'Shrimpton Report', which has caused so much hilarity over the years. Especially as some of the haters took it seriously.
Actually, why are they even bothering trying this lunatic? Not that long ago, he'd have been locked up out of harm's way with the people that think they're Napoleon.
Though maybe his imaginings aren't that much worse than the Hounder Researchers and other lunatics that imagine they're the police, or Queen Hoho with her ten FB sites and risible videos.....

Barrister who claimed German spies were targeting Queen with nuke at Olympics facing jail
Nov 25, 2014 14:03 By Elliot Pinkham
Barrister Michael Shrimpton has been found guilty of making wild claims to MPs that sparked a major security scare
A barrister who sparked a security scare when he claimed German spies were plotting to target the Queen with a nuclear warhead at the London Olympics is facing jail.
Michael Shrimpton, author of 'Spyhunter: The Secret History of German Intelligence' has a fascination for the world of political and military intelligence.
As security fears mounted before the Games, the 57-year-old told a close colleague of former Defence Secretary Philip Hammond that a nuclear device was planted in a hospital in east London.
The next day he telephoned the offices of David Lidington MP and repeated the bomb hoax in a fashion he likened to an episode of hit American TV show 24, Southwark Crown Court heard.
A jury of nine men and three women found Shrimpton guilty of two counts of communicating false information after more than six hours of deliberation, with majority 11-1 verdicts.
Ordering psychiatric reports, Judge Alistair McCreath QC said: "The sentence that I pass upon you will have to reflect that gravity of the conduct of which you have been convicted.
"But if, as may be the case, there is some underlying reason for it, then it seems to me important that I be informed of that underlying reason and I am therefore minded to order that you undergo psychiatric examination."
Shrimpton passed information about a terror plot against the Queen 'to persons in high authority' when preparations for the London Olympics were at an advanced stage in April 2012.
"The information was extraordinary and dramatic, in essence Mr Shrimpton announced that a nuclear weapon stolen from the sunken Russian submarine the Kursk a number of years ago, that such a nuclear weapon had been smuggled into the UK and was being stored in a London hospital in preparation to be used during the Olympic games," said prosecutor Alan Blake.
"With the benefit of hindsight the information may seem outlandish, perhaps even laughable."
But Mr Blake said Shrimpton was a 'respected professional man' who has 'superficial plausibility'.
Shrimpton claimed his arrest was a 'colossal cock-up', blamed the Germans and demanded a 'nice lunch with MI5'.
During his two-week trial, he told jurors he worked on the investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance and the case of former Chilean dictator General Augusto Pinochet.
He read extracts from his address book with a number of 'contacts' in the CIA, FBI, MI6, the Pentagon, Chinese intelligence and Parliament.
Shrimpton said: "I admit that the stuff I deal with is bound to sound strange, high falutin', incredible and fantastic.
"It's my world, welcome to my world."
Shrimpton claims he has rubbed shoulders with royalty, former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and listed a number of famous names including Richard Branson and Steven Forbes.
Giving evidence he boasted of meeting Prince Philip twice in a social context and has his phone number.
The lawyer said he was even consulted for his intelligence knowledge by makers of popular British spy drama Spooks.
Shrimpton claims he has travelled the world on intelligence assignments and carried a gun into America with permission from the CIA.
He told jurors that there had been an assassination attempt against him by the Chinese authorities who wanted to 'whack' him.
And he claimed the Los Angeles Sheriff Department consulted him on possible terror attacks over a cup of coffee.
Shrimpton holds one previous conviction for possession of indecent images of children. A memory stick was found in his house search containing the vile pictures and has been the subject of separate proceedings at magistrates' court.
Handed a three-year community order for the crime, he appealed the conviction but it was upheld.
Shrimpton, of Wendover, Bucks, had denied two counts of communicating false information with intent.
He was granted conditional bail ahead of sentence on February 6.
======
Maybe he should have got a legal genius like his old pal Bennett to defend him, after he got Bennett off the sign-stealing charges?

Always a pleasure to read good writing about the mad people and conspiraloons; alas, I am afraid I tend to get stuck at, They're all round the bend, I blame Care in the Community.
I find it rather telling that so many in the McCann-hating world can't actually see that these people are barking mad, and devote endless pixels to discussing and debating whatever lunacy their latest Pied Piper has invented.
And the involvement with Icke's lot hasn't helped one bit with their reality 'issues', as can be clearly seen on not-Bennett's.

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
I love this perfectly simple statement in the comments:
I think some of them really do believe it, the problem is that there is some truth mixed in with the batshit crazy stuff; example, no aircraft hit WTC7 – true. Fact, some very heavy bits such as landing gear assemblies did hit this derelict and unstable building.
Quite; it's amazing how many of the '9/11 Truthers' don't grasp details like that, or engineering, or gravity, or basic physics, or well, just about anything, really.

Michael Shrimpton: Barrister who claimed Nazi spies were planning to attack London Olympics with nuclear bomb is jailed
01:12, 7 February 2015 By Sam Adams
Michael Shrimpton, 57, made the claim in a hoax phone call just months before the opening ceremony of the 2012 Games
A barrister who claimed Nazi spies were planning to attack the London Olympic opening ceremony with a stolen Russian nuclear bomb has been jailed for a year.
Michael Shrimpton made the hoax phone call just months before the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.
He had previously warned not to interfere with the search for missing toddler Madeline McCann after falsely claiming she was being held on a boat moored near Morocco.
The 57-year-old called the office of former defence secretary Philip Hammond to warn him of the alleged plot in April 2012.
He said he had been told about the plans from European contacts and that the bomb had been hidden in an ambulance being stored near a hospital in Newham, east London.
He also called the office of Aylesbury MP David Lidington, making similar claims but was arrested at his home in Wendover in Buckinghamshire.
Fantastic Claims: Michael Shrimpton claimed he rubbed shoulders with royalty and was th subject of a failed Chinese 'hit'
Who can forget Queen Sonya interviewing him and hanging on the nutjob's every word? And let's not forget, he has also been convicted of offences against children.
She sure knows how to pick 'em.

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
Judge McCreath said: "While I am sentencing you for these two offences, I must take into account the strict warning you were given by the authorities after your involvement in the Madeline McCann case. "You were told in strong terms not to interfere with matters which didn't involve you. And while I am not sentencing you for that matter it must be taken as an aggravating factor, as you committed them after this waning."
That must have been manna from Heaven to Poulton; she doesn't seem to have cared that he also committed sex offences involving children.

Re: Creator of 'Shrimpton Report' jailed for bomb hoax
BTW, can the haters work it out? Shrimpton wouldn't have been told to STFU about the McCann case if there was any vast 'cover up' or protection of the McCanns going on. Indeed, his nonsense would have been encouraged by the authorities.
The only reason to tell him to STFU is that, somewhere in his ramblings, he got something right.
The involvement of Portugal's corrupt elite, maybe - all those high-ups that managed to keep their names out of the Casa Pia fiasco? Corrupt local authorities in the Algarve? Who knows.
I doubt if any of the haters and Gonzo fans are capable of working that out, though - they'll be scared to even THINK about it.
