Have you ever seen anyone make such a hash of holding a fish? He's looking at it as if it is a bomb about to go off.

Re: US politics and election
http://www.weaselzippers.us/234911-ben-carson-candidate-should-be-sworn-in-on-stack-of-bibles-not-a-koran/
Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson is standing by his view that a Muslim should not be president of the United States, telling The Hill in an interview on Sunday that whoever takes the White House should be “sworn in on a stack of Bibles, not a Koran.”
Carson ignited a media firestorm in a Sunday morning interview with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press,” in which he said he “would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation.”
“I absolutely would not agree with that,” Carson said.
In an interview with The Hill, Carson opened up about why he believes a Muslim would be unfit to serve as commander in chief.
“I do not believe Sharia is consistent with the Constitution of this country,” Carson said, referencing the Islamic law derived from the Koran and traditions of Islam. “Muslims feel that their religion is very much a part of your public life and what you do as a public official, and that’s inconsistent with our principles and our Constitution.”
Carson said that the only exception he’d make would be if the Muslim running for office “publicly rejected all the tenets of Sharia and lived a life consistent with that.”
“Then I wouldn’t have any problem,” he said.
However, on several occasions Carson mentioned “Taqiyya,” a practice in the Shia Islam denomination in which a Muslim can mislead nonbelievers about the nature of their faith to avoid religious persecution.
You could also have an initiation ceremony involving dead poultry. Say what you like about Dave, at least he will now NEVER be accused of being a closet moslem.

Re: US politics and election
http://www.scotsman.com/news/scotland/top-stories/donald-trump-set-to-auction-off-turnberry-contents-1-3894389
DONALD Trump is to auction the contents of his five-star Turnberry golf resort in Scotland ahead of a planned £200 million refurbishment.
The US Presidential candidate plans to turn the hotel, which underwent a multi-million pound makeover in 2009, into the “finest and most luxurious hotel” in Europe
The billionaire bought the 149-room luxury golf resort in 2014 from Dubai-based Leisurecorp for an undisclosed figure.
And he is now planning to flog its collection of plasma televisions, beds, mattresses and chandeliers at auction.
Lots are expected to also include sofa suites, a collection of photographs and prints, framed mirrors, and free-standing sink units
“All this stuff was renewed about five years ago under the previous owner, so it’s all good quality as one would expect.
“We expect it will attract a lot of interest and that people will come to buy a bit of the Turnberry Hotel. We are expecting a lot of interest from overseas as well.
“There will be a large quantity of these assets.”
The 18-month refurbishment programme is under way and will be carried out in phases before a re-launch of the resort takes place next June.
Who wouldn't want a Trump chandelier?

Re: US politics and election
I know I would.
Ben Carson really is coming in for some flak about what he said. He happens to be correct but that is besides the point. The moral outrage from the bleeding hearts is greater though. I believe they don't think all this through to the conclusion.
They don't grasp what Sharia Law is, I think.

Re: US politics and election
Yes, I am delighted to see that Ben Carson - and Trump - are refusing to back down on this. And neither they should, they are absolutely correct. Time and again, we see moslems in Western society putting their faith, and their co-religionists, before their adopted nation.
Almost no other group does this. Hindus don't, Taoists don't, Sikhs don't, Christians. Buddists don't, pagans, atheists and agnostics don't - they all render under Caesar. Zionists do have a tendency to put Israel first, unfortunately, but that is a sideshow in comparison to Islamists.
I am fascinated by the way the liberal-left panders to islam; maybe they tell themselves that, if they show the islamists they are not nasty 'racists', then they will be allowed to carry on proclaiming women's rights, gay rights, abortion rights, etc?
I don't know, but it's madness. In reality, once they are of no more use as Useful Idiots, they are far more likely to be first for the chopping block as followers of Shariah absolutely despise them.
And it is no more 'racist' to object to the islamification of the West, than it was 'racist' to object to the Nazis, or to Stalinism. 'Islam' is not a race, it's a belief system, and a rather unpleasant one at that.

Re: US politics and election
Bonny, I think there are a large number of people who wear rose colored glasses so big and thick that they can't see the daylight.
I guess they don't connect the dots to them losing so many women's rights. To them being relegated to second class citizens. To them being owned with no rights?
I know that in the UAE, there are more liberal concessions to women but still not like in the West. It is much more preferable to Saudi Arabia which I was appalled at but S.A. is what it would most likely be like.
Do they want to find out the hard way?
Islam is a belief system but Sharia is a whole law unto itself.

Re: US politics and election
I would like to know why the West only attacks moderate Middle East nations, Lily. Iraq and Libya are the most obvious; Assad protects minorities in Syria - but he's the bad guy? Even Iran has Jewish, Christian and pagan members of parliament - again, the minorities render unto Caesar.
But the Saudis, one of the worst sponsors of terror, are our allies? Despite their bombing of moderates in Yemen?
And don't let's forget Washington backing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, till the army rescued their country.
Stinks to high Heaven, frankly.

Re: US politics and election
Yes, Bonny, it does.
I doubt that most American women will have travelled to S.A. I hate to say this but too many Americans are ignorant of history etc in other countries. The US is huge but centered around itself. That could, of course, be easy to feed any old codswallop to them.

Re: US politics and election
Lord of the Flies? I thought everyone knew Obama's the Anti-Christ.
During a June 2009 CNBC interview, Obama killed a fly on camera.
“Get out of here,” the president said with his eyes on the fly before the interview began. When the fly persisted, he killed it with a single blow.
“That was pretty impressive, wasn’t it?” said Obama of his feat. “I got the sucker.”
That's creepy, though....and he undeniably has a problem with bad symbolism......
