US ambassador severely criticizes Orbán gov’t policies
Who the hell does she think she is, poking her nose into matters that are not her concern, and with incredible arrogance in the capital city of Hungary. Perhaps she would be better looking closely into the current state of the US. No gun massacres here, admittedly some discrimination but nowhere as huge as in the US, corruption is everywhere, does she think it doesn't exist back in her own country? I don't agree with a lot of Orbán's domestic policies - I wouldn't vote for him - but he is right over the immigration policy, IMO.October 29th, 2015
US ambassador severely criticizes Orbán gov’t policies in lecture held at Corvinus University
By All Hungary News
US ambassador Colleen Bell voiced serious criticism of the Orbán-government’s policies at a lecture she gave at the Budapest Corvinus University on Wednesday. Bell warned of the possible harmful consequences of Hungary’s energy dependence from Russia and advised the government to reveal the details of the agreement about the expansion of the Paks atomic power plant. She considers the systemic corruption present in Hungary is a serious concern and suggested that a more stable system of taxes and regulations would be desirable to encourage foreign investments. She also warned of the situation of democratic institutions, as checks and balances suffered the increased power concentration during the Orbán-governments since 2010.
Bell said the government measures that endangered the independence of civil society and NGOs were “extremely worrying”. She also disapproved of the government’s hostility towards refugees, as ‘while each sovereign state is entitled to protect its borders, as members of the international community they are obliged to help people seeking asylum.” The ambassador said “Our policy has not changed. As a friend of Hungary, we have raised issues in the past, and we will do so today and into the future – in the same spirit – as friends and partners."
Foreign minister Péter Szijjártó said in response on Thursday that since Hungary is a member state of the EU and not the United States, “the issues raised by the ambassador will be discussed with the European Union, in fact, we have already discussed them. We know that the US would like to see more and more migrants in Europe, clearly this was why they addressed the issue, however, Hungary remains the only European country that was able to stop the flow of migrants on its border,” Szijjártó said.
Further to the above and her comments on corruption in Hungary:
I would add that all my friends, espcially the ladies, say that Hungary is safer than many other countries where women are concerned. So long as you are careful with your wallet/cellphone/handbag in Budapest it is far safer than, say, Londion or New York, just for starters. My son, who has lived in the US, France and other large countries says he feels very safe strolling around Budapest. LLBudapest Chief Prosecutor: more corruption cases exposed in Hungary last year than before
By Hungary Matters October 29th, 2015
There were three times as many corruption cases exposed in Hungary in 2014 as in the previous year, and criminal statistics showed improvement for last year in the capital as well, Budapest’s chief prosecutor said in an interview published by the daily Magyar Idők.Citing national criminal statistics, Tibor Ibolya said that the number of graft cases exposed last year was 3,269, up from 1,105 in 2013, adding that data suggest a similar increase in Budapest. What explains the increase is that authorities were more efficient in exposing cases, which then appear in criminal statistics, he said, cautioning however that these figures do not reveal the actual level of corruption.
Ibolya said he saw Hungary’s corruption indices showing no big difference when compared with those of other countries with a similar economic and political system in the region. Corruption “practices” have changed, Ibolya said, noting that new methods include covering up illegal money movements with rather complicated contracts involving on occasions foreign companies.

LL, I would personally feel perfectly safe in Hungary.
Gun massacres in the US? That's the least of it - several large US cities are now little more than failed states. Look at Chicago:
Stats from:
http://heyjackass.com/
Year To Date
Shot & Killed: 377
Shot & Wounded: 2149
Total Shot: 2526
Total Homicides: 426
You don't hear any outcry about that, do you? Black lives don't matter much to gangstas. And that is only Chicago - it's every bit as bad in certain other US cities.
When the rule of law has collapsed in your major cities, and they have become ungovernable:
http://data.baltimoresun.com/bing-maps/homicides/?
34 homicides in Baltimore this month.
Then you are in NO position to cricitize peaceful, law abiding nations. Washington needs to STFU, mind its own business and clean up its own back yard, instead to preaching to the rest of the world.
The chaos and bloodshed Obama has caused around the world is just as bad in the US itself.

'Debate Was Conducted In Bad Faith': RNC Suspends Partnership with NBC
Now that's funny!
I saw an interesting conspiracy theory regarding the Democrats somewhere today. It goes:
To get his own back for real or imagined slights, Obama is going to dripfeed and leak even more dirt on Hilary. Sooner or later, the scandals will overwhelm even her, and she will be forced to withdraw. At this point, panic will sweep through the Dems at the thought of Sanders getting anywhere near the White House, and Crazy Uncle Joe will be begged to change his mind and run - for the good of the nation, of course!

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/11/02/afghanistan-43m-gas-station-colossal-waste-us-taxpayer-money/?intcmp=hplnws
The Department of Defense spent $43 million to build a gas station in Afghanistan that should have cost roughly $500,000, the lead oversight team monitoring U.S. spending in Afghanistan has found. The discovery came as part of a broader investigation into allegations of criminal activity within the DOD's premiere program to kick-start the Afghan economy.
"It's fright-night at the Pentagon," John Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction (SIGAR), told FoxNews.com, calling the spending "outrageous to the taxpayer."
At issue is spending by the Task Force for Stability and Business Operations, known as TFBSO or the Task Force, which ended in March 2015. But most alarming, according to Sopko, is the DOD's failure to answer questions about the $800 million program and its claim the Task Force's employees no longer work for the DOD.
"I have never in my lifetime seen the Department of Defense or any government agency clam up and claim they don't know anything about a program," said Sopko, a former federal prosecutor appointed by President Obama in 2012 to watch over spending in Afghanistan.
"Who's in charge? Why won't they talk?" he said. "We have received more allegations about this program than we have received about any other program in Afghanistan."...etc.
The gas station probably DID cost $500,000. The other $42,500,000 went in bribes, kickbacks, and the bank accounts of assorted contractors and politicians in the US and Afghanistan.

That's an interesting piece, on straws in the wind.
I would advise Trump to stay well away from Dallas book depositories - if the elites of both parties see their gravy train vanishing, things could get very nasty.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/11/04/san-francisco-sheriff-loses-re-election-bid-amid-sanctuary-city-controversy/
Embattled San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi convincingly lost his bid for re-election Tuesday after spending months in the national spotlight as the face of his city's controversial "sanctuary city" policy on illegal immigration.
Mirkarimi, 54, was defeated by Vicki Hennessy, a former sheriff's official who had the endorsement of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and the sheriff deputies association. With 42 percent of precincts reporting, Henessy had received 63 percent of the vote to 31 percent for Mirkarimi.
Mirkarimi and his office received heavy criticism after Mexican illegal immigrant Francisco Sanchez allegedly shot and killed 32-year-old Kate Steinle on San Francisco's waterfront July 1. Sanchez had been released from Mirkarimi's jail in March even though federal immigration officials had requested that he be detained for possible deportation....more at link.
I do hope we are seeing the end of the social justice warrior lunatics.

By Sky News US Team
Former US President George H W Bush has broken his silence about his son's administration in a biography, lambasting key figures Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.
The nation's 41st president says Vice President Cheney was an "iron ass" while Defence Secretary Rumsfeld was an "arrogant fellow", reports the New York Times and Fox News.
Mr Bush told his biographer that Mr Cheney "had his own empire there (in the White House) and marched to his own drummer".
He described the Vice President as exerting too much "hard-line" influence in George W Bush's administration to "use force to get our way in the Middle East".
Mr Bush also said he believed Mr Cheney had been influenced by his "tough as nails, driving" wife, Lynne.
Of Mr Rumsfeld, he said: "There's a lack of humility, a lack of seeing what the other guy thinks. He's more kick ass and take names, take numbers."
"I think he served the president badly," he adds.
But Mr Bush also criticised his son, saying the buck stops with him.
He said George W Bush failed to rein in Mr Cheney and Mr Rumsfeld.....etc,
