Re: US politics and election
Wow! I didn't know that.
What got at me the most was how he didn't appear to help wounded veterans returning from duty. Especially as they have been so hard hit. I could not understand that and it resulted in me realizing it was not important enough to him. Why not?

Re: US politics and election
http://www.rt.com/news/310635-french-senator-tshirt-obama-crimea/
One of the French parliamentarians visiting Crimea has spoken his mind through fashion. Senator Yves Pozzo di Borgo from the center-right UDI party has acquired a T-shirt with Putin and Obama portraits, the caption saying: “Obama, you're a schmuck.”
Trends
Ukraine turmoil
The senator, currently on a two-day visit to Crimea, was strolling along a picturesque quay when he reportedly came across an article of clothing that spoke for itself. Yves Pozzo di Borgo (who is also vice-president of the French-Russian Friendship Group of the Senate and member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and OSCE) immediately snapped the T-shirt up and even tried it on, Lifenews reported.
I suspect there would be heavy demand for those in the US, too.....

I saw that, Lily - the general response seems to be, .
And if Obama thinks it's a good idea, you just know it's a bad one, as everything he touches turns to sh*t.

Re: US politics and election
The Kenyans have more sense and tact than he does, frankly:
Gay sex is punishable by up to 14 years in jail in Kenya. Many other African countries also outlaw homosexual relations.
Mr Obama had been warned by prominent Kenyan politicians and religious leaders not to bring up gay rights during his trip - the first to the country by a sitting US president.
And Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta dismissed it as a "non-issue" for his country.
"There are some things that we must admit we don't share - our culture, our societies don't accept," he told reporters at the news conference.
He said gay rights "is not really an issue on the foremost mind of Kenyans. And that is a fact".
I think that's a clean sweep now, isn't it? He's even managed to annoy his, er, father's homeland?

Re: US politics and election
That's the thing, he DOES know it, and still goes ahead, convinced the world would be a better place if everyone in it thought like a New York liberal.
Now, personally, I don't care which consenting adult marries which other consenting adult, but the whole thing is a big NO-NO in most of the real world. And he really shouldn't have Rainbow-ed the White House, he's supposed to be a world leader, not one of the Village People.

As noted yesterday, during a moment of social network levity in the president's twitter stream, Obama who is currently in Ethiopia as part of his African tour, urged Americans to eat ice cream. Subsequently, he shifted into a more serious diplomatic mode, and during an address to the African Union, whose "leaders" are not well versed in the finest traditions of democracy (no, not accepting legal bribes from lobbies but term limits), he urged African leaders to share power and recognize the value of changes in government. Obama used his own term-limited tenure as an example on Tuesday, making some interesting comments about 2016.
"Now, let me be honest with you," Obama said. "I am in my second term. It has been an extraordinary privilege for me to serve as the President of the United States. I cannot imagine a greater honor or a more interesting job. I love my work. But under our Constitution, I cannot run again."
The crowd cheered appreciatively.
He then added: "I actually think I’m a pretty good president. I think if I ran, I could win. But I can’t. So there’s a lot that I’d like to do to keep America moving, but the law is the law."
Yes, and we all know how much respect he has for the law, and the Constitution - NONE.
I bet he tries it.

HAVE YOUR SAY
DONALD Trump yesterday said it would be “ridiculous” if a second Scottish independence referendum was held, describing last year’s vote as a “bad period” for the country.
Just a few days after Alex Salmond opined that another poll was “inevitable”, Mr Trump said he would be “extremely upset” if that were to happen.
The entrepreneur, with ambitions to become US President, was speaking at a press conference held after his helicopter landed at Turnberry, the South Ayrshire golf resort he bought last year.
...more at link.
He's probably still cross about the bruising he took at the hands of Aberdeen town council......

Re: US politics and election
Quite, Lily. I should think the golf is excusable, but I doubt if US voters have any interest whatsoever in the intricacies of Scottish politics.
I don't know what he's moaning about, anyway - visitors to Scotland were UP last year; though they may have been coming to marvel at the madhouse.

I actually know some golf fanatics who went to Scotland pre-Trumps course and said that it was too difficult to play at St. Andrews. I think that there are many who will go there now to visit and play on an easier one.

Above: Cheney watching the WTC towers burn.
I have to say, I thought those photos were odd, too - Cheney's reactions were all wrong. Condaleeza looked genuinely horrified, as did almost everyone else, but Cheney was, IMO, way off.
PS - that conspiraloon nonsense in the story, about cakes, is just silly....

I think they could be ordered and delivered anywhere including having people take them wherever they needed to in no time at all. It's very easy and so is making coffee for a lot of people etc.....
