MANCHESTER, New Hampshire – Dr. Ben Carson and his campaign accused Sen. Ted Cruz’s team of sabotaging Carson in the Iowa caucuses Monday night by encouraging Cruz supporters to tell voters at their caucus sites – incorrectly – that Carson was dropping out of the race.

“It was happening all over,” Iowa State Director Ryan Rhodes told MSNBC. “One of the precincts Candy [Carson, the candidate’s wife] walked into, she had to correct the record. She actually walked in, in Ankeny, and gave a speech about no, he’s still in the race and that’s a lie.”

Carson came in fourth place in the state’s caucuses....etc.

What the team then should have done was send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out. his was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson.”…

And, astoundingly, Hills won 6 times out of six?

Because of the hoo-ha over Trump, not enough attention, IMO, is being paid to Sanders/Hillary. Now, I think Sanders is a daft old Leftie, but that doesn't change the fact that it is looking very much as if HE actually won. All sorts of strange things seem to have been going on at those caucus meetings.

The only consolation seems to be that the dodgy practices by the 'winners' have made virtually no difference to the delegates alotted.

The reformers running Glasgow Central Mosque have resigned en masse citing threats to them and their families.

Seven office-holders, including the Mosque's president and general secretary, have stood down in what solicitor Aamer Anwar called an "extremely sad and shameful day for Scotland's Muslims".

The men - who have been campaigning to give women a bigger role in the mosque - said they were facing aggressive intimidation now under police investigation.


Their resignation came amid increasingly bitter turf war between young reformers and the so-called Old Guard, mainly Orthodox Pakistani-born elders revealed in a series of stories in The Herald.

Their opponents dismissed their reports of threats as "lies" and "politics".

Some reformers claim they were told not to attend Friday prayers last week.

General-Secretary Nabeel Shaikh, President Maqbool Rasul and five others on Wednesday morning confirmed they had resigned.

In a statement, they said: "Due to a number of people undermining day-to-day operations, meetings and even sabotaging mosque property, alongside threats of physical harm to executive members including their wives and children, we have no option but to resign from the executive committee in order to protest against the backwardness displayed by a minority of people in power."

Dr Kausar said stressed Islam, in his view, could not bend to what he saw as Western democratic impositions on traditional practice.

He said: "Regarding our ladies, they are quite happy. The Mosque is a religious thing. Islam is not a small religion or a young one. It has been going for 1600 years and it has ruled over large areas of the world.

"All the rules for women and children are there in Islam.

"We have to follow Islam's rules, which are made by the prophet and the Koran. We don't bring it in to the western politics. There are women who say they want to be Imams. It is not allowed in Islam. It is not needed. You can't pass the rule in parliament for the Mosque. Islam is a faith. If you believe in a religion you have to believe in all that it dictates."

Dr Kausar also said he believed other ethnic groups were happy with the way the Mosque was run. "You can see the Somalians standing shoulder to shoulder, he said. Complaints about lack of non-Pakistani representation, he said, came from the reformers. He said: "The group you are mentioning they are complaining because they have the AGM in front of them and they might lose their support. It is just to build their support. It is politics."

Donald Trump's plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday because of engine trouble.
The Boeing 757 was on its way from Mr Trump's home base of New York to Little Rock, Arkansas, where the property mogul and Republican presidential candidate was due to address a rally.
The private jet landed safely at 4:40 pm after reporting engine problems, according to the Federal Aviation Authority, which said it would investigate the incident.
Mr Trump travelled the rest of the way in a charter aircraft, a campaign spokeswoman said.

Probably a genuine technical problem, but the timing has to raise eyebrows. If Trump gets much closer to destroying the corrupt Washington establishment, he'd be well advised to stay clear of grassy knolls and book depositories.
