If @TedCruz doesn’t clean up his act, stop cheating, & doing negative ads, I have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen
Oh, just do it anyway.

From this side of the Atlantic, Lily, he looks like a complete fraud, and a very nasty piece of work. I actually dislike him as a person now.

Oh, for goodness' sake - I'd missed that, Lily. IMO, Jeb! is hiding behind his family - no-one is going to be rude to his elderly parents, they aren't even going to be particularly rude to Shrub, as he's rather low-profile these days.

Re: US politics and election
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/02/14/fireworks-erupt-between-trump-and-bush-rubio-and-cruz-at-gop-debate.html
The appeals came shortly after Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio accused each other of being soft on illegal immigration. It’s an argument they’ve had before – Cruz faults Rubio for backing a comprehensive immigration reform bill that included a path to legal status, and Rubio says Cruz was on board with that effort – but this time, it became more heated. And after Cruz accused Rubio of saying on Univision he wouldn’t rescind President Obama’s immigration executive orders on day one, Rubio quipped:
“I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesn’t speak Spanish,” Rubio said.
Cruz, then, immediately began debating Rubio in Spanish. Rubio continued, saying Cruz “lies about all sorts of things” and indeed supports legalizing illegal immigrants.
What on earth made Rubio think Canadian-Cuban Cruz didn't speak Spanish? Did Rubio somehow fail to notice his opponent's surname?

Re: US politics and election
Trump initially took issue with Jeb Bush’s call to confront ISIS while also taking on Syria’s Bashar Assad and sidelining Russia.
“Jeb is so wrong,” Trump said. “You have to knock out ISIS. .... You decide what you have to do after. You can’t fight two wars at one time.”
Bush, though, said Russia is not a U.S. ally, and Assad’s hold on power prevents a resolution in the war. Trump then went on to repeatedly slam the decision under the George W. Bush administration to enter Iraq in the first place, calling it a “big fat mistake” that “destabilized the Middle East.”
“They lied” about WMDs, he said.
“I am sick and tired of him going after my family,” Jeb Bush countered, saying he’s proud of his brother’s efforts to keep the country safe.
Trump then invoked 9/11: “The World Trade Center came down … That’s not keeping us safe.”
I'd vote for Trump just for publicly saying that. I wonder, does he know more than he's letting on about the background to 9/11?
Not the tinfoil hat stuff, but the stock market business, the Saudis, Cheney being strangely relaxed that day?

Jeb Bush: And he’s had the gall to go after my mother. I won the lottery when I was born 63 years ago and looked up and saw my mom. My mom is the strongest woman I know.
Donald Trump: She should be running.

Re: US politics and election
AUGUST 23, 2008
Interviewed Trump for GQ at his palatial mansion in Beverly Hills. Like his other homes that I’ve seen, it’s a monument to gold-encrusted decadence.
Away from the cameras, he was much calmer company, until I asked what he thought of President George W. Bush. ‘He’s set back this country 50 years!’ he raged.
‘After September 11, America had the chance to be the most popular country in the world, and instead, in a matter of weeks, that man destroyed it.
‘He purposely lied, and his lies got us into a war. I think he will go down as the worst President in the history of the country. A disaster.
‘Obviously we can make things up again, and recapture the glory. But right now, there is no glory for this country.’

Re: US politics and election
It's....different, Sabot. The US election was, IMO, all sewn up, it was going to be Bush v. Clinton - it didn't matter which one won to the establishment, the gravy train was going to keep rolling for Washington elites, and b*gger the American public.
Then along came Trump and Sanders, both outsiders, even though their politics differ, and the whole corrupt apple cart has been upset. It's very interesting to see what is slithering out from under stones - Trump is getting most of the coverage, simply because he's Trump, and hard to miss.

Re: US politics and election
I probably don't understand American politics, Bonny. I still can't get my head around Democrat and Republican, no matter how hard I try. My mind goes blank.
I know that The Senate is often against any current President, but I don't really understand why, except that certain things don't get through.
And if Trump wins, will his ideas stand any chance?
PS. What is he, by the way? I might just remember that.

Re: US politics and election
He's standing as a Republican, Sabot, but contrary to the manner in which he is portrayed in the media, he is NOT an extremist - he's no bible-thumping maniac, unlike one or two others.
He's anti-globalist, wants American companies back in the US employing Americans, wants to stop this massive importation of God knows who, keep the US military out of conflicts which are none of their business, work with Russia against terrorism, instead of stirring it up as Obama has been doing. Fairly sensible stuff, in short.
I am starting to quite like him, not least because he isn't in anyone's pocket - niether is Sanders of the Dems. Sanders appears to have borrowed many of his policies from Corbyn, unfortunately. A lot of his support is coming from blue collar workers, and others who have been badly hurt over the last seven years.
Lily would be able to explain it more fully, like you, I'm just watching from a distance - but this is certainly a very interesting and unusual election.

Thanks, Bonny.
I had such high hopes for Obama with what little knowledge I had. But we all know how that turned out.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/fact-check-did-donald-trump-predict-the-911-attacks/
Trump on intelligence, chapter 5: "The inadequate use of intelligence is pervasive."
The record:The 9/11 attacks also didn't come without warning. As early as December 4, 1998, former President Clinton was warned that bin Laden was preparing to hijack U.S. aircraft, according to the 9/11 Commission Report. But Trump's assessment that "the inadequate use of intelligence is pervasive" rings the most true given the intelligence failures that occurred prior to the attacks.
"Information was not shared, sometimes inadvertently or because of legal misunderstandings. Analysis was not pooled. Effective operations were not launched. Often the handoffs of information were lost across the divide separating the foreign and domestic agencies of the government," the commission's report said.
Can't think why the establishment is so scared of Trump......

Re: US politics and election
God love him. He says it as it is. I have more admiration for him as time goes on.
It really does seem as though the American people don't get listened to anymore. It is as though the unelected elite globalists rule America and beyond. So it doesn't matter if a person vote Republican or Democrat at the moment. The end result will most probably be the same.
Whereas, the Donald is shaking everything up. He is not bought by anyone with something required in return as the others are.
It's time to take the country back. Which is just like you guys are experiencing with the goings on of the EU at the moment.

That's a bit odd. I can understand people voting for Sanders, but Hillary? Why would anyone vote for that Yammering gorgon?
