Corbyn allies accuse Khan of treating him like a 'pariah' by avoiding appearing with him after new mayor gives leader the slip

Allies of Jeremy Corbyn accused Sadiq Khan of treating him like a ‘pariah’
The Labour leader was absent from Khan’s official swearing-in ceremony
Even Ed Miliband witnessed Mr Khan become Boris Johnson’s successor

http://news.sky.com/story/1693631/pm-caught-on-mic-calling-countries-corrupt

David Cameron has been caught on microphone describing Afghanistan and Nigeria as "fantastically corrupt" during an exchange with the Queen.

The Prime Minister was speaking ahead of an anti-corruption summit later this week, and made the comments as he described who will be attending.

Mr Cameron is seemingly unaware his conversation with the Queen in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury, House of Commons Speaker John Bercow and Leader of the House of Commons is being caught on microphone.

:: PM: Queen 'Purred Down Line' Over Scots Vote

The Prime Minister tells the Queen: "We had a very successful Cabinet meeting this morning, talking about our anti-corruption summit.

We have got the Nigerians - actually we have got some leaders of some fantastically corrupt countries coming to Britain."

He continued: "Nigeria and Afghanistan - possibly two of the most corrupt countries in the world."

The Archbishop then attempts to rescue the situation by saying: "But this particular president is actually not corrupt."

After his comments, Mr Bercow jokes: "They are coming at their own expense one assumes?"

To which Mr Cameron responds: "Everything has to be open. There are no sort of closed-door sessions.

"Everything has to be in front of the press. It's going to be ... It could be quite interesting."

Oh, it is already, Dave. Null points for diplomacy. Pcorneater

On the list of 174 countries Nigeria is 136, Afghanistan is 172, two places from the bottom.    LL

Carwyn Jones immediately after the roll-call which tied the vote at 29-29

Welsh Assembly members have failed to elect a new first minister on their return to the Senedd.
Labour's Carwyn Jones was expected to be re-appointed following Thursday's election.
But Plaid Cymru nominated its leader Leanne Wood, and won the backing of the Tories and UKIP, while Mr Jones won the support of sole Liberal Democrat Kirsty Williams and his own party.
With the vote tied at 29-29, the Senedd was adjourned to a later date.
Labour accused Plaid of doing a deal with the Conservatives and UKIP, something Plaid denied.

Sobbing Labour politicians, PC ratting their supporters out - excellent drama! Pcorneater

Yup. Pcorneater

And it's just a matter of time before we see similar scenes in Holyrood, as the SNP are now dependent on six Green list MSPs Rolling Eyes to stay in power. Pcorneater

I am actually none too sure what he's wearing, Lily. The bottom half is OK - that's an actual tartan, for something like the Scottish Urdu society (don't quote me, I can't remember for sure) but the top half! He looks like he's escaped from the cabaret on a cruise ship - and yes, he does have a tie on over a T-shirt.

He usually looks fairly presentable when he's in the full rigout, but he seems to have, er, been imaginative.

And that dress looks like an apron gone wrong.....most bizarre outfits.

I have to agree with you, Sabot.  Eek

So it may be a multikulti tartan he is wearing?

He looks to me as though Vivienne Westwood styled him for the day.  He makes her look very under-dressed. roflrofl

Salmond is rapidly turning into George Galloway, I am afraid, LL. I make no secret of the fact that I would like to see Blair on trial in The Hague, but nowadays, Alex Salmond is not the person to lead the charge against him.

The way things are going, he will be lucky to hold his seat at the next GE.
