A dog abandoned in a garbage container in a bag, is generating a wave of solidarity in Vila Real, a city where, at this time, increases the number of abandoned animals, said source platform Proanimal.

António Brandão, one of the representatives of animal rights organization, based in Vila Real, told the Lusa agency, on Thursday, received a request for help for a dog that was whining inside a trash container, in the town of Bustelo.

"We went immediately to the scene and found ourselves with a dog in a bag. Tore the bag and found him badly injured, dehydrated, without getting up, but even so soon began to wag his tail. It is very sweet" he said.

The animal is being treated at the Veterinary Hospital of Tras-os-Montes.

The Proanimal Platform said on Friday in its Facebook page, a video about dog rescue whom he called "Sam" and, since then, it has grown and a wave of indignation but social networks around this case, but also of solidarity with monetary donations or even food.

António Brandão said that anyone who wants to help can make donations directly in veterinary hospitals, with which the organization has protocols, and so depress the debt treatment of animals. "Monetary donations are the only way we have to be able to collect close Sam and not reach an unsustainable debt to hospitals, "he said. And after treatment, the official stressed that "Sam" needs who adopt.
