I'd forgotten about this one:

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/02/20/politics/republicans-south-carolina-primary-highlights/index.html?sr=fbCNN022016republicans-south-carolina-primary-highlights0556PMVODtop

(CNN)Hillary Clinton will win the Nevada Democratic caucuses, CNN projects, a crucial victory that could ease concerns about her ability to secure the party's nomination.

With 72% of the expected vote in, Clinton was ahead of Sanders 52.2% to 47.7%.

The win provides a jolt of momentum to the former secretary of state as she heads into the February 27 South Carolina Democratic primary and Super Tuesday on March 1.

Yup, watched it - the US doesn't drag its results out. It was very entertaining watching the blood drain out of the Fox crews' faces.

They started out claiming exit polls had made the S. Carolina vote 'too close to call', talking up Cruz and Rubio. And then the actual results came in... rofl rofl rofl

http://www.steynonline.com/7473/bush-whacked

Quote from a longer piece:

Murphy dismisses Trump - and now presumably Carson, too - as a "zombie frontrunner" because they're not behaving the way they're supposed to: You're meant to hire guys like Murphy and bulk up your payroll with a seven-figure campaign HQ operation that blows through millions of dollars on soft-focus campaign ads about how you had a tough but inspirational upbringing as the son of a mailman or, in Jeb's case, the son of a one-term president. The consultants get a percentage of the bazillion-dollar ad buy, and the super-donors admire it because it looks like all the other cookie-cutter ads they fondly recall from the Romney campaign, and the McCain campaign, and the Dole campaign...

Then Donald Trump turns up. He has an issue, but it's the one the consultant class advise you to go nowhere near with a ten-foot pole, so he snaffles it up all to himself. He spends nothing on ads, because he's sucking up all the free airtime in the 15 minutes between the stupid irritating soft-focus commercials. His biggest expense is hats and T-shirts. He has no endorsements from former senators and former congressmen and former this and former that, because they're losers and nobody remembers who they are. Not being a career politician, he feels no need to pretend to be an average working stiff, because he's not.

And the consultants' response to all this is to complain that Trump's not doing it right.

He's doing something right.

I watched that last night. It was rather interesting and I say this as someone who doesn't like political programs too much.

Cruz was his normal self and lied like the pro, that he is. I actually felt sorry for Jeb when he announced he was stepping out.

The overwhelming corrupt nature of politics has produced Trump. Someone is sticking his neck out and call it for what it is in the most politically incorrect way. Too many Americans are sick to death of the past 7 years. That is what they are cheering.

Initially I was happy for Obama but that only lasted for a few months. Then I saw the writing on the wall. He was sent by his powerful backers to sew discord in the country. It worked and it is time for someone to make it right.

If that does not happen, we will be sunk and the rest of the Western world will follow.......IMO.

Fox has been badly exposed by the whole business from what I've seen, Lily, they've been revealed as just another establishment media outlet. Megan Kelly's face last night was a classic - she really should find a job more suited to her abilities, on QVC or the Home Shopping channel.

This seems to have slipped under the radar because of all the other hoo-ha:

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/2016/02/20/sanders-supporters-yell-english-only-at-latina-civil-rights-legend/

Dolores Huerta–the famous organizer who co-founded the United Farm Workers Union with Cesar Chavez over fifty years–says on Twitter that she was yelled at when she attempted to translate for Spanish-speaking voters at a Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)rally in Nevada

Dolores Huerta ‎@DoloresHuerta
I offered to translate & Bernie supporters chanted English only! We fought too long & hard to be silenced Si Se Puede! #ImwithHer #NVcaucus
9:18 PM - 20 Feb 2016
....etc.

The Sanders lot are supposed to be nice and not do things like that....

Comment:

Susan Sarandon tweeted that she was there and the only thing yelled was "no, no, absolutely not" Because Huerta is a Clinton mouthpiece.

The "English Only" being attributed to Bernie supporters is just a way to smear Bernie's people. A Clinton supporter indeed. Just as dirty. The moderator said English Only because no neutral translator was available

http://www.forbes.com/sites/eamonnfingleton/2016/02/21/after-south-carolina-heres-why-donald-trump-will-be-americas-next-president/#3caa1a94e8e8

I am going to stick my neck out: Donald Trump will be America’s next President. Since December, I have been writing commentaries on the theme of “Why Trump Is Winning.” For a few of them, click here, here, and here. So far I have held back from predicting ultimate victory. But after Trump’s impressive showing in South Carolina (in the teeth of criticism from Pope Francis, not to mention continuing prophecies by the usual pundits that the Trumpmobile would soon hit a puncture), it is now time to go a step further: barring some unforeseen disaster (far bigger than any challenge he is likely to meet from Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or even Hillary Clinton), I believe Donald Trump is now unstoppable.

Why? Not only is Trump speaking truth to power on two crucial issues – trade and immigration – but it is now clear he has ignited long smoldering voter anger on both issues.
...more at link.

Well worth reading; I don't think the elites in the US and Europe are really grasping the sheer anger that is building up.

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/02/22/politics/rick-tyler-marco-rubio-video-apology/

(CNN)Ted Cruz asked his communications director Rick Tyler to resign Monday after Tyler distributed a video that falsely depicted Marco Rubio dismissing the Bible.

The incident comes a day before the Nevada Republican caucuses and in the wake of accusations from rival campaigns in recent weeks about Cruz's campaign tactics. Donald Trump has called Cruz a "liar" and Rubio and Ben Carson have also blasted the Texas senator.

Trump, Rubio and Carson have all attacked Cruz for his ethics ever since Cruz's victory in Iowa. Cruz later underperformed in South Carolina two contests later.

Cruz says he spent the morning investigating what happened before making his decision. Campaign manager Jeff Roe confirmed that Tyler had formally resigned.
...etc.

Cruz is such a sleaze.
