Well, Obama didn't take him up on his offer of $5 million to a charity of choice if he would produce his proper birth certificate and tax returns going back 20 years. He got a big raspberry for that one and is now ranting away. Someone offered him the same sum if he would set free the thing he wears on the top of his head! LL

European stocks fell sharply on Wednesday after persistent worries over the euro zone economy and fiscal problems in the United States eclipsed initial relief over U.S. President Barack Obama's re-election.
European stocks had rallied in morning trade and the FTSEurofirst 300 hit a level not seen for nearly two months as Obama's win fuelled hopes the U.S. Federal Reserve would maintain its loose monetary policy.
But a fresh gloomy take on the outlook for the European economy, this time from the European Commission, which said the euro zone economy would barely grow next year, kick-started a long slide into the close for European indexes.

And while investors were relieved over Obama's win, they remained concerned about the U.S. "fiscal cliff" of about $600 billion in spending cuts and tax hikes set to begin early 2013, which could jeopardise growth.

24 hours has not passed yet. In all honesty, people would rather have jobs than handouts.

I was not expecting this so soon. Let's hope Obama gets people on his team who know what they are doing fiscally and now. If he can, I will think he is doing a good job.

He's rather like a US version of our beloved Boris, except Boris is funny, and laughs at himself. The Donald is just - rude and bullying.

The irony is that as much as I think the Donald is an arrogant SOB, he is incredibly brilliant at business. Too bad they couldn't shake hands, work together and do the right thing for the country.
