The apartment from which Madeleine McCann went missing four years ago is being rented out to holidaying families. Ten families have been in the apartment at the Ocean Complex in Praia da Luz since May.
It had been empty since the Madeleine disappeared in May 2007. The British owner has been trying to sell the two-bedroom ground-floor apartment since 2007 with an asking price of £255,000.
During August, the rental price set for the apartment is €200 per night.
Thank you, Pedro; I'll be honest, I am not surprised they struggled to sell it for that price - nothing to do with the McCanns, but it did seem a lot for a fairly basic apartment.

Would an apartment such as 5a be occupied in the winter, Pedro? I am curious, because I am sure it is lovely in the summer, but I don't think I would fancy staying there in the winter - it's right beside the Atlantic?

Having seen the apartment, I don't think it is built for winter use. The wind from the Atlantic is pretty cold in winter and 80% of the houses/apartments are closed.

The higher season is in the summer.
