gonc wants closed court, private hearing? Who does he think he is, this barsteward is on trial because of his lies, smears, defamation, also won fame and fortune at the expense of innocent people, also intentionally harmed the search for a child, and makes demands to the court in a judgment against it? he is afraid to be more exposed than he already is, he and his lawyer should know that in Portugal there is no private or closed court hearings, if the attorney did not advised amaral about it, he knows nothing about PT justice regulations in Portugal. The attorney of amaral is not very smart.

As we were repeatedly told closed hearings weren't acceptable in Portugal, it raises questions about just why Gonc is trying such a desperate stunt. It also implies that Astro and others know just how much trouble he is in, and that they knew he was going to try this stunt.

It's way past time she and a few others started telling the truth about Gonc, and a few other things - like, where's Morais? Any truth in the rumours she is in big legal trouble?

The disgraced Portuguese detective accused of hampering the search for Madeleine McCann sought to ban media from the court room as a libel case against him got underway.

Kate McCann, 45, came face to face with the former detective outside the court where she and husband Gerry, are seeking £1 million in damages for his "poisonous lies" about the fate of their daughter.
Lawyers for Goncalo Amaral, 56, delayed the start of proceedings at a civil court in Lisbon with a petition to hold the hearing behind closed doors. The petition was dismissed however.
Mrs McCann, who arrived in the portuguese capital late Wednesday evening accompanied by her mother, sat quietly on a bench inside the courthouse as her detractor strolled past .
Neither acknowledged the other.
Isabel Duarte, lawyer for the McCanns said she would fight to get Mr Amaral's petition for a closed hearing rejected.
