WHY GONC HASN'T A LEG TO STAND ON WHEN HE FACES TRIAL FOR LIBEL

I don't know if they do that in Portugal, Tony but, that is what often happens.

It is just I have never heard of a pretrial in a libel case, lily.

The only cases that I am aware of at this time are:
1.the libel case McCanns vs Gonçalo Amaral
2.the McCanns vs GA for allegedly violating the secrecy of justice when he published his book
3.Gonçalo Amaral vs McCanns and Isabel Duarte for not returning the books after the ban was overturned
4.and finally, the McCanns vs TVI, Hernâni Carvalho, Paulo Sargento and Manuel Luís Goucha for something they said on television.

It is possible that there are other cases of which we have no knowledge. As for the McCanns, they have opened "Pandora's box" with this libel case and they must have been expecting an out of court settlement.

Yeah, of course they are. Sauces say the only person desperate to stop this going to court is Dr Gonc, but I digress...

Bit of a problem there, as THEY AREN'T HIS PROPERTY.

The books belong to the publishers, Guerra & Paz. If they don't want to retrieve them from storage, well there is naff all Gonc can do about it.

For arguments sake, what would happen if Guerra e Pez, TVI and VC have decided to settle out of court? How would this affect Goncalo Amarals case if they admit that the book and the documentary was libellous and have undertaken to donate a substantial amount to the Find Madeleine Fund and promise not to repeat, just like the Express group did?

Could the McCann lawyers also put in a stipulation that they will also undertake not to be witnesses for Goncalo Amaral? And how could he hope to win if 3 out of the 4 defendants admit that the book and documentary was libellous and defamatory?

Even Claudia, who proclaims to be in direct contact and at the end of a phone to Goncalo Amaral, in between meeting at a local cafe and sipping cups of coffee together, is being very quiet on the subject.

Claudia would be crowing from the hills if everything was going Goncalo Amarals way, especially if it brought bad news to the McCanns.

Have no fear about the cheque clearing, Bonny. Gonc's money is in the hands of the very nice Portuguese Judiciary because they didn't trust him due to him being in all that Debt and the like.

And he will have to pay something because the book, the video, and the interviews are all permanently out there, and cannot now be withdrawn. Also Gonc made loads a money which he cannot be allowed to profit from.

And don't forget that he has made fools of The Portuguese Public Prosecutor's Office.
They won't have liked that at all, at all.

That's from two days ago - and still no sign of Morais, let alone news. I suspect something is very wrong indeed in the Gonc camp.

Miz Morais hasn't been very forthcoming about much at all for quite some time. Not sure if it's sour grapes over Love Rat Levy or the final demise of Goncalo Amaral. Could be a bit of both. And anyway, it is mostly Astro who puts up shite these days. Her wot is related to Gonc in some way.

Meanwhile, the sychophants keep on churning out the rubbish.
