Given the attitudes of 'the local resident', the 'ex-pat', and the other self-proclaimed Voices of Luz, perhaps PDL should consider twinning itself? One small British community seems to share their attitudes....

The "homeless person" - a "perfectly pleasant man, but never sober" - is not a representational figure of local residents, explained the woman, and the “prophet” is someone who wears a turban and “walks around with a pole with a light on the top of it”.

Incidentally, should one assume that the inhabitants of PDL dislike the media so much that they are turning the press away from their hotels, bars, etc?

The British newspapers paint the village as one full of terrible people.

So, the Voices of Luz decided it was a good idea to make PDL sound even worse? If UK media pick up on this, that interview is liable to ruin PDL as a tourist destination for ever more.

All becomes clear. Just another forker, repeating bile from other forkers, and making PDL sound as bad as possible.

Why did the Voices of Luz have nothing to say about the two known attacks on British children in the town? Not even mention enormous drug hauls being siezed on the beach?

ETA, they also appear to have failed to mention that it's the PJ who have named drug-addicted former OC employee, the deceased Tractorman, as a Prime Suspect.

It makes the place look like it is lawless. Well with Gonc, it certainly was.

Just imagine driving into ANY town, anywhere, and the first thing you see is a defaced poster of a missing child. It's like something out of the Lost Boys - not exactly a nice image, is it?

Whose fault do the locals imagine that is, besides their own?

And it looks like such a nice place on the surface. Thank goodness that the Anti McCanns and The Anonymous Voice of Luz have put everyone straight.

Personally, I shall be looking to The Press in the coming days. "Let's not talk about the predator in Luz" will make such an interesting headline. Especially when The Press go on to talk about it.

Well, Lily, if these ExPats are more interested in Euros than helping to find Madeleine, and helping to protect other small girls, then they aren't decent, are they.

The most obvious thing for them to do is to find the abductor. They need to get on top of crime by normal methods (not thuggish) and then people will flock there because they feel confident. Until then, it is people like Gonc who have caused tourists to lose confidence in the place.

So simple.

More concerned about their property values, Sabot. Failing to grasp that it's not so much the crime that's the problem, that can happen anywhere. It's the failure to do anything about it, indeed, trying to pretend it isn't happening and blaming the victims.
