Any chance of Israel explaining how destroying the Gaza sewage plant is going to stop Hamas hating them? Why did they regard something so essential to life as a military target?

Ah, bonny, but no sewage plant, hospitals, schools, water plants, electricity, building materials, fishing rights and food equals a hellhole that, they hope, will force all the Gazans to pack up and leave tout suite.    Bit like the Nazis eradicating Lidice in WW2, except that the Nazis lost the war, while the Czechs built a new Lidice.    Gaza may well still be there long after Israel has vanished.   LL

I was sickened to find out the truth about Israel's so-called 'humanitarian supplies' they allowed into Gaza, LL. That they'd counted out the minimum number of calories Gazans needed to live on, and that that was all they allowed.

Hence the so-called 'terror tunnels' - which were actually bringing in fresh food.

Yes, I too think that sooner or later, Israel is going to be gone, just the same as the crusaders were kicked out nearly a thousand years ago. Their methods have much in common.

What's really been accomplished?

We will have to wait and see what the consequences will be?

We will see how things progress - I wonder if the Israelis will allow building materials into Gaza so the people can rebuild their destroyed homes, let alone their shattered lives.    LL

Who knew coriander was Evil? As for banning shampoo - words fail me. Especially when Garnier has been handed out freebies to those females in the Israeli army.

I've often noticed, Lily, that the more religious people pretend to be, the more they ignore things they don't like, such as instructions not to kill, covet, bear false witness, etc.

Does that come under the heading of The Chosen People? We can chose what we want........

Not this lot - this generation are going to be regarded as a bunch of child-killing criminals, great at bombing, shelling and droning civilians that can't fight back, but pretty useless against other armed men.

There are supposedly only some 5,000 Hamas fighters in Gaza, against tens of thousands of Israeli military, but you wouldn't think it from the casualty figures. If this lot of young Israelis had been around at the time of the Seven Days War, Israel would have been overwhelmed, IMO.

One of these days, they are going to get a nasty shock and discover that actually, no, God is not on their side.

79% of Palestinian casualties were civilians.

96% of Israeli casualties were military.

I am not a religious man, but surely most of the Ten Commandments have been broken in the last month:

   Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.  broken
   (Shelling and fighting on each day over the month)
   You shall not murder.   broken
   (Nearly 2,000 civilians in a month)
   You shall not commit adultery.  broken in thought if not in deed
   (Threats to rape the mothers of Palestinians and Hamas)
   You shall not steal. broken
   (Looting of damaged property etc)
   You shall not bear false witness  broken
   (False statements re what was happening in Gaza)
   You shall not covet. broken
   (Theft of land that belongs to the Palestinians)
