Why are the lunatics so terrified of eastern Ukraine having another referendum, under UN control? Are they scared the result is going to be the same as the first one, that they won't accept? There will be fewer voters this time, as hundreds of thousands of people have fled Ukraine to safety in Russia.

The lunatics in the west should be hanging their heads in shame over this and trying to find a peaceful solution, not banging the war drums to whip up the dachshund-lynching idiots.

It makes you wonder what their real agenda is when you think about it.....

There isn't much doubt, IMO, about what the original agenda of certain elements in Washington was, Lily - HUNTER BIDEN says it all. And I suspect the Pentagon had fantasies about mooring aircraft carriers in Sevastapol harbour.

But it's obvious to a blind man that Biden and his cronies aren't going to get to asset-strip the Donbass region, as they had planned. If anyone still has a grain of sense - which I doubt - instead of carrying on with this stupid snarling match with Russia, they should ALL be sitting round a conference table sorting this mess out without any more loss of life.

There's nothing sacred about the current Ukraine borders - it's younger than some of our members, another artificial creation. If the east wants affiliated to Russia, let them be. If the west wants to be bankrupted by the EU and IMF - well, that's their choice, too. I just hope they don't all end up begging on UK streets like so many other east Europeans who thought they were entering the Promised Land.

Ukraine says its military is riddled with Russian spies


With pro-Russian forces making significant gains in Ukraine, Kiev's defence minister has vowed to set up a SMERSH-style counter-intelligence agency to stop Moscow's infiltration weakening his armed forces.

Amid fears that the conflict could descend into full-scale war between the two former Soviet states, Valeriy Heletey claimed that his army is now engaged with Russian servicemen in both Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

The pro-Kremlin forces - which Kiev insists are spearheaded by Vladimir Putin's troops - have now seized control of Lugansk airport and are strengthening around Novoazovsk in Donetsk region, they claim.

The claims come as Nato leaders prepare to meet in Wales for the alliance's toughest summit since the end of the Cold War.

With his army in retreat, defence minister Heletey said he was setting up a new counter-intelligence service based on Stalin's feared SMERSH - 'death to spies' - system established in the Red Army during World War Two.

'Today like never before, it is important to get rid of the Russian 'fifth column' within the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Defence Ministry, and more importantly, in the units and regiments engaged in the Anti-Terrorist Operation,' he said.

The service 'will be somewhat similar to SMERSH and operate mainly on the front-line and in the military command bodies'.

It would 'identify and destroy enemy agents' and 'uncover instances of the non-fulfilment of military orders by commanders as well as instances of desertion'.

As any poor sod between 16 and 60 is being conscripted by Kiev, maybe they just don't fancy the idea of being killed, or killing other Ukrainians, for the enrichment of the Biden family and a shower of corrupt oligarchs?

Whatever, I really don't see setting up Kiev's version of SMERSH, doubtless run by the Right Sektor, helping much.

No. Bonny. There are no money shortages and things needing fixed over here. There are no schools in disrepair, no people who cannot afford health care. No veterans having to wait for months to be seen by the military hospital, no people who cannot afford to feed or shelter themselves. No worries about water being relocated in the Western States so that people can have that. Nothing really.

It's a good job the old Soviet Union built all those bomb shelters in the area in case the Cold War ever went hot. I am sure the irony of Ukrainians now having to use them to shelter from their own government, courtesy of Washington, has been noticed.....

It is heartbreaking to read about all those poor people are going through. I guess the sale of misery is a booming industry for some.

Ukraine urgently needs IMF loans to support its budget and prop up its faltering currency as its debts come up for repayment.

Borrowing money to pay loans is a disaster for individuals; for a country, it's a recipe for disaster, IMO. The whole thing is complete insanity. What was in Nuland's cookies - LSD?
