With Greece on the verge of either getting kicked out of Europe or suffer through yet another government overhaul, one which many suggest may usher the "last" option for Greece, the ultra nationalist, neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party into governance, some wonder if it is not Europe's ulterior intention to force a populist shift toward right wing, nationalist parties (perhaps best observed in France where Marine le Pen's dramatic rise to power has left many dazed and confused) one which will lead to social instability and shortly thereafter, war (because in a world in which every Keynesian voodoo trick to revive the economy has failed, war is the last remaining outcome).

So while we await to see if Europe's turn to ultra right wing movements accelerates in the coming months, we just learned of a very disturbing development in just as insolvent Ukraine, where moments ago the website of the local Ministry of Defense reported that Dmytro Yarosh, i.e., the person show below...




... leader of Ukraine's "Right Sector" political party, whose adherents are shown in the photos below...






... and whose political ideology has been described as nationalist, ultranationalist, neofascist, right-wing, or far right, was just appointed as Advisor to Chief of General Staff.

Shocking, Bonny.....

In other words, the leader of Ukraine's Neo-Nazis will, as a local "patriot and defender of Ukraine" be advising, i.e., fighting for, what little remains of Ukraine's army. 
Sadly the parallels with Europe of the 1920s and 1930s, not to mention the decade just following, grow more visible with every passing day.

It utterly disgusts me that the UK, US and NATO are supporting these scum, Lily - though I suspect a lot of European leaders will be very uneasy. And the shyster lawyer from Chicago masquerading as a 'US Ambassador' trying to bully the Czech president won't have helped.

One of the reasons Kiev is down to the dregs is that the poor Ukrainians they try to conscript have no desire to kill their relatives in East Ukraine, or to get killed for the greater glory of Washington, Soros and Hunter Biden. Thousands of young men and women have been fleeing to Russia before they can be called up, or surrendering to the Donbass fighters ASAP.

The whole thing is utterly shameful, and marks the end of the West occupying any kind of moral high ground, real or not.

Bonny, I share your disgust.  Why did all those brave souls bother to fight for their cause in WWI & II?  

Lily, I wish the Republicans would stop this, My country, right or wrong, stuff - and gag McCain. And stand up in Congress, the Senate, go on Fox, whatever, and blow the lid off the whole disgusting mess.

Anyone with an internet connection can see what is really going on in Ukraine; the rest of the world's governments know, too. What does anyone in Washington think this is doing for America, and its future?

The Free Sh*t Army is the colloquial term for the tens of millions of Americans who don't work, who have never worked, and have no intention of ever working, LL. They get benefit payments that would make the most left-wing/liberal European government blush, and naturally, are big fans of Obama for making such largesse possible.

The increasingly-squeezed working/middle class who have to pay for all this are none too happy, and are somewhat tired of having their pockets emptied by their government - it doesn't matter to the wealthy, their accountants just fiddle everything.

EBT = Electronic Benefit Transfer.

Cash benefits include state general assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits and refugee benefits.

I am none too sure why it says the UK uses them, I don't think that is correct. The UK normally pays into bank accounts, and occasionally by Giro.

It certainly doesn't issue cards you can use at Tesco, unlike the US system.

It all sounds wonderful and worthy, but it's widely abused. Food stamps are traded for cash, EBT cards are accepted at McDonald's, etc....

PS - the short version of all this is, Bread and Circuses.

Bonny, it is a huge gift from the gods for some people.  They are even so cash strapped that they manage to use their cards on cruises and at Vegas.  

The poor dears can at least enjoy themselves......

I sometimes have fantasies about them all being sent to genuine socialist states, Lily, where they are quickly told, Won't work? Then you don't eat, either. How dare you steal from The People!

I wonder if that will be next on the agenda......

I remember watching a TV programme about the Hermitage, and other Russian palaces, etc., with one of my family, who was amazed that they had all survived the Revolution.

I explained that they had been attacked at first, and later battered about a bit by the Nazis, but in fact, as soon as the Bolsheviks had actual control, it all became the property of 'the people' - the one-party State really, but 'the people' sounded better.

So, anyone as much as breathing heavily on any of it was damaging 'the people's property' and on  a slow train to a gulag - if they were lucky. They did NOT get to make excuses about being misunderstood, or to claim to be  protesting about something - because of course, everything was perfect in the People's Paradise.

A fire has broken out at a Russian nuclear submarine during repair work at a shipyard in Severodvinsk. The cause of the fire is believed to be related to welding work on the sub.

The incident happened at the Zvezdochka shipyard, in the Arkhangelsk region in the town of Severodvinsk.

The United Shipbuilding Company confirmed the incident, adding that nobody was hurt in it. According to the the shipyard's spokesperson, the submarine’s nuclear reactor was shut down and its weapons unloaded before the repair started.

“There is no open fire at the moment, but there is heavy smoke,” reported Itar-Tass citing its own source.

Sky News is breathless with speculation over this, but by the wonders of twitter, I can reveal that actually, it's not dreadfully exciting at all:

UKRAINE BLOCKS 10,000 WEBSITES, CONFISCATES A NEWSPAPER
Security Bureau of Ukraine seized and disappeared two Odessa bloggers

As I reported yesterday, the Security Bureau of Ukraine, on April 7th, had seized and disappeared two Odessa bloggers, who were trying to get an independent investigation, and ultimate prosecution, of the individuals who participated in the 2 May 2014 massacre of regime opponents, and who burned, shot, and clubbed to death perhaps over 200 in the Odessa Trade Unions Building — the event that precipitated the breakaway of Donbass from the rest of the former Ukraine, the country’s civil war.

And I also reported that April 7th saw the official announcement that, “The security service of Ukraine … has discontinued operation of a number of Internet sites that were used to perpetrate information campaigns of aggression on the part of the Russian Federation aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order and territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.”

The follow-up to that story is the news on April 9th, which was reported in the courageous independent Kiev newspaper, Vesti, that “SBU has blocked more than 10,000 websites.” It says that, “Law enforcers seized the servers,” and that one SBU official told the newspaper, “‘We have made the decision of the court and confiscated equipment.’ He promised to return the servers in two months.”

Another news report on April 9th in Vesti tells of seizures of that day’s edition of newspapers by far-right toughs at news stands throughout the city, and the story even shows a video of Right Sector toughs raiding and emptying a Vesti delivery van headed out for distribution. The report also said:

On Thursday, April 9, machines [coin-operated distribution boxes] that were transporting part of the circulation of the Kiev edition of the newspaper ‘Vesti’ were attacked. The attacks occurred around the metro stations ‘Heroes of Dnepr’ and ‘Vasylkivska.’ In both cases, the scenario was the same: the circulation machine was blocked by two cars that emerged containing unidentified men wearing symbols of the ‘Right Sector’ who illegally seized the circulation. In the case near the metro station ‘Vasylkivska,’ a driver was beaten, and the attackers threatened to burn his car.”

Back on 5 July 2014, Vesti had headlined, “Masked men smashed and fired into ‘Vesti’: broke windows, spread tear gas.” A video accompanied that news report, too. The video showed a man outside the newspaper’s office, opening the door, being suddenly attacked by approximately a hundred men who rushed at him from hiding and beat him.

The accompanying news report from a witness said:

“I first heard several shots. Then stones and Molotov cocktails were hurled at windows on the first and second floors. After that, the room filled with tear gas, which quickly spread throughout the office, and it’s still very hard to breathe. One of the guards who tried to stop the thugs was beaten.”

It is rather related, Lily. I have come across several stories to the effect that Soros, Hunter Biden, Monsanto and co are quite happy for eastern Ukrainians to die in their thousands, and be forced to flee to Russia - I think nearly a million have gone now.

Because if that land is depopulated, it makes it far easier for them to despoil it and loot its resources without so many of those awkward humans in the way.

Trust me I know perfectly well what I am saying. If we take, for example, just the Donetsk oblast, there are approximately 4 million inhabitants, at least 1.5 million of which are superfluous. That’s what I mean: we don’t need to [try to] ‘understand’ Donbass, we need to understand Ukrainian national interests. Donbass must be exploited as a resource, which it is. I don’t claim to have a quick solution recipe, but the most important thing that must be done — no matter how cruel it may sound — is that there is a certain category of people that must be exterminated.”

The other main funders of Hromadske TV are the U.S. Government and the Netherlands Government.

Nothing's changed in 70 years. Soros is still a PoS, and the nazis are just the same as ever.

The only difference is that this time, the West is supporting Nazis. Just one of the many reasons I am disgusted with the US, UK and NATO.

The younger people and those who know nothing of WWII are not able to understand what is/will be happening?

A Russia Su-27 jet fighter flew dangerously close and nearly collided with a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft this week in the latest aerial provocation by Moscow, defense officials revealed to the Washington Free Beacon.

The Su-27 conducted the close-in intercept of an RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace over the Baltic Sea on Tuesday, said officials. The incident prompted a diplomatic protest.

“On the morning of April 7th, a U.S. RC-135U flying a routine route in international airspace was intercepted by a Russian Su-27 Flanker in an unsafe and unprofessional manner,” said Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen M. Lainez.

“The United States is raising this incident with Russia in the appropriate diplomatic and official channels,” she said in a statement

The US is lapped by the waters of the Baltic? Who knew?

An American RC-135U reconnaissance aircraft was buzzed by a Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jet over the Baltic Sea near Russia’s Kaliningrad Region, according to the Pentagon, which accused the Russian pilot of coming dangerously close to the US aircraft.

“On the morning of April 7, a US RC-135U, flying a routine route in international airspace, was intercepted by a Russian Su-27 Flanker in an unsafe and unprofessional manner,” the Washington Free Beacon (WFB) cited Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen M. Lainez as saying.

“The United States is raising this incident with Russia in the appropriate diplomatic and official channels,” she added.

The official said that a Russian Su-27 (NATO designation – Flanker) passed within a half-dozen meters of the unarmed reconnaissance aircraft, whereas the Sukhoi’s wingspan is 14.7 meters. The Pentagon spokeswoman dubbed the behavior of Russian pilot “reckless” and endangering the safety of the RC-135 crew.

Major-General Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, said that the interception was launched after “Russian air defense radars spotted an unidentified air target over the Baltic Sea making steady progress toward the national border.” The aircraft had its transponder turned off, Konashenkov said.

The Sukhoi Su-27 dispatched to intercept the target identified it as a US Air Force reconnaissance aircraft RC-135U and reported the aircraft’s type and tail number to headquarters. After the Su-27 made several fly-bys around the spy plane, the RC-135U altered course and moved away from Russian border.

“No emergency situation was reported during the fly-by of the American reconnaissance aircraft,” Konashenkov said.

And what would the US have done if they saw a large, unidentified plane heading for the coast of the US, I wonder?
