Meet the walking binbags. It's about time the UK followed the example of France and banned full-face veils.

http://news.sky.com/story/1595689/protests-as-saudi-plans-to-execute-50-people

Around 1,000 Shi'ite protesters have gathered at a Saudi mosque as officials plan to execute more than 50 prisoners in a single day, reports say.

The demonstrators assembled at Imam Hussein Mosque in Awamiya, a largely Shi'ite town in the oil-producing Eastern Province, to demand the release of activists on death row.

They also closed off roads in the area with burning debris, residents said.

Those about to be put to death reportedly include Ali al Nimr, who was only 17 when he was arrested in 2012.

He was sentenced to death for his part in anti-government protests, including breaking allegiance to the king and rioting.

His case has drawn international condemnation because of his age, as well as allegations he was tortured and did not have a fair trial.

Al Nimr's family say they fear "the government is serious, very serious" about carrying out the sentence.

Amnesty International said al Nimr is among more than 50 people at risk of being put to death in a single day.

His mother and the mothers of other prisoners called on King Salman for clemency after learning of their impending executions, the rights group said.

Al Nimr is one of three Shi'ite protesters who were minors at the time of their arrest and have been sentenced to death. They have exhausted all appeals.

Their fate rests with King Salman who must give final approval before the death sentences are carried out.

Saudi Arabia's Okaz newspaper said 55 people were awaiting execution for "terrorist crimes" that killed more than 100 civilians and 71 security personnel.

On Monday, the semi-official newspaper al Riyadh reported that 52 people would be put to death soon, but later pulled the story from its website without explanation.

Some of those facing execution were affiliated with al Qaeda, Okaz said. Others are from Awamiya, where the government has suppressed Shi'ite demonstrations for equal rights.

Saudi Arabia has already executed over 150 people this year, mostly by public beheading, the most in 20 years, according to Amnesty.

Just waiting for the West to try to regime-change the Saudis....

Oh wait, those head choppers are Our Gallant Allies, aren't they?

Anjem Choudary back in custody for allegedly breaking bail conditions
Radical preacher remanded in custody to await trial on charge of inviting support for banned terror group Islamic State

Radical preacher Anjem Choudary is back in custody after having his bail revoked.

Choudary, 48, appeared on Friday at Westminster magistrates court, which heard he had allegedly met an individual he had been ordered not to under the conditions of his bail.

He was charged in the summer with inviting support for a proscribed organisation, Islamic State.

Choudary, from Ilford, east London, and his co-accused, Mohammed Rahman, 32, of Whitechapel, east London, are due at the Old Bailey on 11 December, with a provisional trial date set for next year.

They are both charged with inviting support for the banned terror group Isis between 29 June 2014 and 6 March 2015, by posting on social media.

Choudary was released from the top-security Belmarsh prison in September after being granted bail by Mr Justice Saunders, who set out 10 strict conditions, including not using electronic devices, having a surety provided of £15,000 and non-association with co-defendants or others arrested in September 2014 or linked arrests in December 2014.

In his ruling, Saunders said his main concern was to avoid “anything being disseminated publicly by either of them or on their behalf which would encourage others to go to live in Syria as part of their religious duty”

http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2010/08/islam-and-inbreeding.html

Massive inbreeding within the Muslim culture during the last 1.400 years may have done catastrophic damage to their gene pool. The consequences of intermarriage between first cousins often have serious impact on the intelligence, sanity, and health of their offspring, and on their surroundings.

That's interesting, Lily. I knew from somewhere or other about their tendency to marry relatives, but didn't realise it was so prevalent.

It might help explain why so much of the Islamic world is going backwards, not forwards? Whole generations are being born without any fresh blood, or new ideas?

Islamic Society students disrupt university lecture on blasphemy and make 'death threat'

MUSLIM students repeatedly disrupted a lecture on blasphemy given by a human rights activist with one making a death threat, it has been claimed.

By KATIE MANSFIELD
PUBLISHED: 06:45, Fri, Dec 4, 2015 | UPDATED: 11:59, Fri, Dec 4, 2015

Maryam Namazie was giving a lecture on blasphemy at the Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Society (ASH), of Goldsmiths in London.

Her talk was repeatedly disrupted by members of the university's Islamic Society (ISOC) with hecklers shouting and turning off her Powerpoint presentation when she showed a cartoon of Jesus and the prophet Muhammad.

One member of the audience also claimed he received a death threat during Ms Namazie's talk.

Ms Namazie fled Iran's repressive regime and now campaigns against Islamic extremism.

The ISOC complained ahead of the talk saying Namazie's views "create a climate of hatred and bigotry towards Muslim students".

A number of ISOC members attended the talk, titled 'Apostasy, blasphemy and free expression in the age of ISIS', with university security forced to intervene and kick members out.

Ms Namazie, speaking after the event, said: "After my talk began, ISOC 'brothers' started coming into the room, repeatedly banging the door, falling on the floor, heckling me, playing on their phones, shouting out, and creating a climate of intimidation in order to try and prevent me from speaking.

"I continued speaking as loudly as I could. They repeatedly walked back and forth in front of me. In the midst of my talk, one of the ISOC Islamists switched off my PowerPoint and left. The University security had to intervene and remain in the room as I continued my talk.

"Eventually the thug who had switched off my PowerPoint returned and continued his harassments.

"At this point, I stood my ground, screamed loudly and continued insisting that he be removed even when the security said he should stay because he was a student.”

The student was eventually escorted out of the meeting and Namazie continued her talk to the audience which included a number of female members of the ISOC.

One member of the audience, lecturer and activist Reza Moradi, said a member of the ISOC made a gesture threatening to kill him during the talk.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Reza Moradi said: “They came in for trouble and made lots of noise. They were very intimidating and I was genuinely worried about Maryam Namazie.

“When the security guards first led out two ISOC members, one of them moved towards me and went ‘boom’.

“At that moment I just thought he was intimidating but it bothered me the way he did that.

“He and his friend came back in later and he was talking to his firend and I said shut up to him and then he looked directly into my eyes and moved his hands into a handgun shape and touched the middle of his forehead.

“At that moment I was worried, I took it seriously as a death threat. I was threatened and he was very intimidating.

“I’ve been an activist in the UK for 15 years and I’ve had many intimidating threats but this one, I’ve taken it seriously and it has worried me. I will go to the police.

“I shouldn’t be intimidated or threatened in a university in Britain.”

SOC refuted the claims and said in a statement: "Muslim students who attended the event were shocked and horrified by statements made by Namazie, and peacefully expressed their dissent to the disrespectful cartoons shown of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). These students were subsequently made subject to unnecessary bullying, abuse and violence by the ASH society and security staff. Some students were even forcibly removed from the event.

"Following the event, members of the public who were present at the event have been tweeting unauthorised pictures of our University students with fabricated statements regarding false allegations of "death threats".

"We would like to make it very clear that Muslim students did NOT make any alleged "death threats”.

"A university should be a safe environment/space for all students including Muslims in this sensitive time. Hateful statements that encourage Islamophobia by Namazie and the ASH can lead to very serious & violent consequences towards the Muslim students at the university. A university institution needs to prioritise the safety of its students and take action to ensure students are not harrassed/intimidated online or on campus."

While a spokesman for the university said: 'Goldsmiths, University of London supports freedom of speech. The university follows a set of regulations to help ensure that freedom of speech within the law is secured for members, students and employees of the university and for visiting speakers."

The ASH is making a formal complaint about ISOC to the university as a result of the talk.
