Battles to liberate Mosul and Aleppo from jihadists

Utterly sickening, disgusting, sadistic....I don't have the words, it makes me too angry.

It was lies, all of it, all the 'Arab Spring' stuff, what happened in Ukraine...lie upon lie upon lie. Obama and co have brought the very concept of 'democracy' into contempt.

And it still gives me nightmares that the UK and US were so close to attacking Syria after that false flag 'gas attack' - Obama should be stripped of his Nobel peace prize, and it given to Ed Milliband for saving the world from even worse horrors than have happened already.

I would love to see President Trump do two things.

1. Disband the CIA - their bloodstained fingers are all over most of this slaughter.

2. Arrest Soros and hand him over to Putin.

It would be a good start to trying to put right the last ghastly eight years, even though it won't bring back a single innocent life.

I am appalled by the level of ignorance being displayed about Syria on social media, Lily. A great many of them seem to have decided that all stories about the 'heroic' White Helmets and Banana are 100% genuine, and all stories about the rest of Aleppo celebrating are 'fake'.

They don't even seem to know that the jihadists in the east have been shelling the West for years.

They certainly don't seem to grasp that, if some unholy amalgam of the Westboro Baptists and the KKK, funded by China, had seized a suburb of, say, Dallas, then the US would do little different from what Assad has done. Though I don't think many of them actually know what war really is, that civil wars are particularly horrible, that it's always civilians that suffer most, and that the only way for wars to end is for one side to win. This one would have been over long ago, with far less suffering, if the West hadn't been arming and financing the 'rebels'.

Every single person in Europe should be on their knees thanking Assad and Russia for making sure the jihadists didn't win this one, because if Syria had fallen, then - next stop, the soft underbelly of Europe.

I don't claim Assad is blameless for one minute, he's done some pretty awful things, but in comparison to the other side, he's a veritable Ghandi. It always was terrorists or Assad, so personally, I am glad the one who protects minorities, who doesn't care what women wear, who is extremely popular in real Syria, etc., is coming out on top.

Oh, and I hope everyone noticed Obama's pet terrorists tried to divert government attention to Palmyra in the middle of all this - is that why so many left supposedly-surrounded by NATO Mosul?

Bonny, the fact is that we have been seeing massive ignorance displayed about many things so it would be par for the course here.

True; you only have to look at the number of Americans that don't seem to know that actually, no, they DON'T live in a democracy, they live in a Federal Republic.

The second is a photo taken some time ago of children slaughtered by ISIS. The caption says they were killed by jihadist rebels, according to Amnesty.

They are NOT from present-day Aleppo. Frankly, I am starting to wonder if anything is genuine; certainly, nothing put out by 'activists', the less than heroic White Helmets, that bloke that calls himself the Syrian Observatory, who actually lives near London, etc., can be taken at face value.

An arrangement has been reached for militants to leave the besieged areas of eastern “within hours,” Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin said, confirming earlier media reports.
"My latest information is that they indeed have an arrangement achieved on the ground that the fighters are going to leave the city," Churkin said.
According to Churkin, the militants, who have been holed up in eastern Aleppo for years, are scheduled to leave the city "within hours."

The envoy added that the withdrawal of militant fighters will put the city under the control of the Syrian government and there will be no need for eastern Aleppo residents to leave their homes.

Quite. Where were all the hang-wringers when Christians were being tortured to death by the 'brave rebels'? When Yazidi girls were being sold in slave markets by their heroes? Only a week ago, gays were still being thrown off Aleppo roofs.

I simply do not understand the progressive support for these headchoppers and their 7th century belief system.
