Fidesz lawmaker denounces pro-immigration activities of Hungarian-American financier George Soros

Financier George Soros, in “cooperation with international and Hungarian organisations, provides financial support for unbridled illegal immigration”, an MP of ruling Fidesz told a press conference. Hungary’s Left “still supports immigration despite a national consultation which has clearly demonstrated that Hungarian people want the country to be protected,” István Hollik said. Soros and organisations “associated with him”, such as the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, the Civil Liberties Union (TASZ) or Migration Aid, will “do everything to allow an unlimited number of immigrants enter the country,” the deputy insisted.

Hollik suggested that Soros was behind a manual issued by the Welcome to Europe organisation, which “encouraged immigrants not to cooperate with Hungarian authorities and refuse to have their fingerprints taken”. Hollik also criticised Soros for “proposing that Europe should pay an annual 15,000 euros to each immigrant and take out a loan to cover that scheme”.

A Home Office spokesperson added: 'Our contractors are responsible for arranging the transport of asylum seekers and bear the cost of doing so. However, this incident was totally inappropriate and Serco has apologised.

'The terms of our contract with Serco requires them to take all reasonable steps to ensure transport is appropriate. We have reminded the company of their contractual obligations and expressed our strong disapproval. There was no additional cost to the taxpayer.'

Mr Arora did not respond to requests for comment last night.

Arora was born in the Punjab in 1961 to parents who had been displaced from the India/Pakistan border town of Fazilka and were about to emigrate to the United Kingdom.

Slovakia sends police to guard Hungary's border against migrants

The Slovak government voted on Wednesday to send 50 police officers to help neighboring Hungary control the number of migrants crossing its border on the southern boundary of the European Union.

Slovakia and other central European nations, who have seen tens of thousands of migrants from Syria, Afghanistan and other conflict zones enter their territory, have said the bloc needs to strengthen its external boundaries as part of any collective response.

EU members have struggled to agree on a strategy to tackle the migrant crisis. Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic all opposed a plan for mandatory national quotas to share out 120,000 asylum seekers among the bloc's 28 member states that was approved last month.

"If the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary join their forces it will be a significant contribution to the protection of the Schengen border between Hungary and Serbia," Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said, referring to the boundary marking the start of the EU's passport-free zone.

The Slovak police would work on Hungary's border with Serbia for a month, according to documents on the government website. The Czech government has also agreed to send soldiers and police.

The author says she had lived in Hungary for a few years. There are a few things I don't get. What does this current migrant crisis have to do with the HOLOCAUST? There is NO connection! Also, Hungary has one of the largest Jewish communities in the EU. Hungarian Jews are VERY WELL OFF and well represented in all areas, including politics, businesses, arts, etc. The writer keeps dwelling on what happened lots of years ago and says nothing about life of Jews (and Christians) in modern Hungary! Makes NO SENSE!
