12:2017:38Wednesday 17 May 2017 153 HAVE YOUR SAY Scottish Labour has tonight suspended its nine councillors in Aberdeen for entering a coalition deal with the Conservatives on the city council.

A tense political stand-off developed after the party’s elected representatives in the Granite city confirmed their intention this morning to form an administration with 11 Tory councillors and three independents.

This gave the grouping a majority of one over the SNP - who were returned as the biggest party in Aberdeen at the council elections, but have so far been unable to find coalition partners of their own.

But Scottish Labour Kezia Dugdale insisted the party had already rejected a potential deal with the Tories, as no firm guarantee could be made regarding redundancies on the local authority and an end to austerity.

Speaking in Glasgow this afternoon, she said: “No formal deal has been agreed at this stage. It is the case they put together a deal with the Tories and independents, which was considered by a sub-group of the Scottish executive committee last night and was rejected.

“It was rejected because we did not believe there was enough evidence in the proposals put forward that there would be no compulsory redundancies and there would be no end to austerity.

“If they choose to proceed with a deal with the Tories and independents, we will be writing to the Labour group in Aberdeen making clear they are in breach of the party rule book, and we will take the necessary disciplinary action along side that.” After Ms Dugdale’s speech, a deadline of 5pm was imposed on the councillors to withdraw from the coalition.

Worth remembering that oor wee Mhairi is about as 'working class' as I am Innuit. She was only working in the chipper for pocket money when she was at university, and her father is actually a prosperous businessman. She was brought up in comfort in the famed leafy suburbs.

She is, in short, a total phoney. Only a couple of months ago, she was whining that she wasn't going to stand again, as London was 'boring', but the lure of a huge salary and expenses seems to have helped her change her mind.

Video footage has emerged of a pro-independence supporter shouting abuse at Tory canvassers on the election campaign trail including taunts of "You're not welcome in Scotland.".

The scenes have been branded "unacceptable" by senior Conservatives who said it was carried out by "SNP activists" and called on Nicola Sturgeon to take action.

The footage was taken in Cowie, Stirlingshire on Thursday night when national campaigning was still informally suspended in the aftermath of the Manchester bombings. It appears to have been taken inside a moving car with two pro-independence supporters following Conservatives around the streets as they campaign on foot

The driver of the vehicle says she is filming "live" and shouts at the canvassers.

"Get out of Cowie, get out of Bannockburn, get out of Scotland - you're not welcome." The video lasts almost four minutes and the driver tells Conservative campaigners she will be following them all around their canvassing route.
"Run away, get out this is Tory-free Bannockburn. Tories are not welcome - now move. Every time you come up on the street you will be coming after."
The video was posted on social media last night by Tory candidate in Stirling Stephen Kerr. "This is what members of my campaign team routinely endure. This video was made tonight by SNP activists in Cowie," he said.

Tory Edinburgh South West candidate Miles Briggs called on the First Minister to intervene. Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP cannot simply ignore or try to wash their hands of the unacceptable actions of her former MPs and party members. More to follow.

I don't think Jezza quite grasps that islamic crazies have been killing non-muslims, and the wrong kind of muslim, for over a thousand years.

Now, I will happily agree that the West played a big role in causing the current situation, because their meddling in the Middle East kicked the wasps' nest open, instead of supporting the secular leaders, however horrible, who were keeping the wasps under control.
