Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
This has been tweeted by one D. Levy, so naturally the pitchforkers are in a frenzy, without even knowing what the story is.
Makes Brown look a bit of a fool, doesn't it, for trying to tell the Yard how to do their job?
And as we don't have the story yet, just the cover, I suggest the forkers calm down, before the inevitable tears before bedtime

Re: Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
With a bit of squinting, I can see the story is by Mr James Murray.
Yes, the same James Murray the forkers were calling everything under the sun yesterday because he defended the cost of the Yard review on the Vine show.
How quickly they forget!

Scotland Yard detectives are poised to interview the so-called Tapas Seven as their inquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann steps up a gear.
The friends of Kate and Gerry McCann, who accompanied them on their holiday to Portugal about five years ago, are expecting interview requests as soon as officers feel they could assist the investigation.
So far, the Yard's Maddie Squad has been concentrating on analysing every scrap of evidence in the case from files supplied by Leicestershire Police, Portuguese detectives and Metodo 3, the Barcelona-based private investigators hired by the McCanns.
Officers have flown to Portugal three times and visited Spain twice. With much....

Well done, Greenink!
So far, so perfectly routine..
As for idiots like this:
RedundantEddie Mark
Will be interesting to see if the T7 are still going to back the #McCann s version of events
2 hours ago
Don't they get it? They are never going to know a single word said by anyone.
There won't be any helpfully edited statements leaked by Levy.
The Fat Man isn't going to be posting videos of the interviews on his site.
It simply is none of their business, and they will save themselves a lot of pain if they grasp that.

The forkers are hilarious at times like this -
I am over the moon - someone is going to crack!!
No they're not; there's nothing to 'crack' about.

I should think the rest of the group will be more than happy to speak to Scotland Yard - they won't have to worry about it all getting splattered all over the internet this time, will they?

Re: Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
Is it AT ALL possible the Yard could have bugged or are presently bugging the McCanns and Tapas 7 telephones??
What on earth would the Yard do that for?
Seriously, why are these people so deluded? Did they really think the Yard would be flying back and forth to Europe, and not speak to the people who are the next best thing to eye-witnesses to Madeleine's abduction? And in Jane Tanner's case, an actual eye-witness?

#ScotlandYard should never have agreed to review the case without the #McCann s & the Tapas 7 being willing to be reinterviewed beforehand.
Oh, do shut up, you rank, meddling amateur.

@ProfilerPatB As review now seems to be investigative in nature I doubt the T9 would have choice re agreeing. #McCann
If they tried grasping that the friends of the McCanns WANT Madeleine found, hopefully alive and well and returned to her family, they might not make such complete fools of themselves all the time.

They never, ever learn, Pedro. They cannot even work out that this is what the McCanns have HOPED would happen - a proper police investigation, by a police force that can be trusted not to run its mouth off and make up stupid stories.

Re: Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
Shouldn't be long now, Pedro. Meanwhile, a little light relief while we wait.
Bennett is being a pretendy policeman again, and telling the Yard what questions they should ask Jane Tanner:
1. Ms Tanner, I'd like to go over what you saw from the police van with the two-way windows on Sunday 13 May. You originally said that on 3 may at around 9.15pm you saw a bloke in a dark jacket and mustard chinos, dark hair and not wearing glasses, about 5' 9", walking purposefully. But when you saw Murat walk past the police van, you were adamant that that was who you had seen 10 days earlier. Murat was not at all like the description you gave police originally, was he? So why did you pick him out?
Is this a bad time to point out that she didn't
Only place that happened is in Gonc's diseased mind.

TAPAS 7 WILL HELP MADELEINE MCCANN DETECTIVES
Sunday February 5,2012
By James Murray
SCOTLAND YARD detectives are poised to interview the so-called Tapas Seven as their inquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann steps up a gear.
The friends of Kate and Gerry McCann, who accompanied them on their holiday to Portugal almost five years ago, are expecting interview requests as soon as officers feel they could assist the investigation.
So far, the Yard’s Maddie Squad has been concentrating on analysing every scrap of evidence in the case from files supplied by Leicestershire police, Portuguese detectives and Metodo 3, the Barcelona-based private investigators hired by the McCanns.
Officers have flown to Portugal three times and visited Spain twice.
With much of the analysis over, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood wants to put his team of three detective chief inspectors, five detective sergeants and 19 detective constables to good use.
They are being supported by six civilian staff and three officers from the specialist murder review group, bringing the total number on the team to 37.
By April the cost of the inquiry will be £1.9million but it is thought that figure could double with the “investigative review” going into next year.
After nine months of information gathering, officers are checking statements from key witnesses.
They include the Tapas Seven, so called because they were eating at a tapas bar with Kate and Gerry at the time Madeleine disappeared.
In some cases the Yard officers have asked for documents to be retranslated from Portuguese to English so that they are absolutely sure of what was said and meant.
One theory they are examining is that if someone abducted Madeleine they could have had a copy of the key for the holiday apartment at the Ocean Club in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
The Sunday Express has learned that the Tapas Seven “fully expect” to be asked to go over the statements they made to Portuguese officers shortly after Madeleine vanished on May 3, 2007.
They were also interviewed by Leicestershire detectives, with Portuguese officers in attendance, when they arrived home.
The most significant witness is mother-of-two Jane Tanner, partner of doctor Russell O’Brien, who said she saw a man carrying a child resembling Madeleine some time after 9pm.
Another key witness is Matthew Oldfield, who went to the apartment to check on Madeleine and twins Sean and Amelie, who celebrated their seventh birthdays last week.
Mr Oldfield saw the twins in their cot but did not push the door open wide enough to see Madeleine, although he was happy all was well.
All the Tapas Seven fully support the Yard’s review of the case and hope it will provide a breakthrough.
Other members of the group include Mr Oldfield’s wife Rachael, David and Fiona Payne and her mother Dianne Webster.
A Yard spokesman declined to say who would be interviewed and when. “We are not going into that level of details,” he said. “We are not at the stage of speaking to individuals yet. We are laying the groundwork.”
The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said they and their friends would do everything to assist attempts to discover what happened to Madeleine.

Re: Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
This is a filler story probably set up ready in a build up to the court case which was due to happen this month.
There is NO news in it at all. Everybody who understood the nature of this full review knew that the key witnesses and others involved would eventually be interviewed by SY. It would have been unthinkable that they could have done a review without that. All the key players, the Tapas group, others around in PDL that night, the police and others will eventually be heard. As the article says, these interviews are not imminent. And as we all know the content of the interviews will NOT be leaked so we will have to wait for the final report for actual news I suspect.

Re: Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
A good summary, greenink. I suspect the forkers all thought the holiday group was going to be siezed in dawn raids and 'grilled' till someone 'cracked' - they do like talking about people 'cracking', when they are not telling woefully bad 'jokes' about Immodium and toilet roll.
Did they seriously think that the Yard wouldn't want to speak to others in the group? Madness.
One thing - personally, I would like to think the Yard will be doing some checking on all those keys.
It really niggles away at me that Gonc never bothered, indeed denied there were any spares, despite at least four turning up in the police files.

Re: Express: Yard To Call In Tapas 7
The headline sums it up. Of course the Tapas 7 will help the Scotland Yard Detectives. They are probably almost as desperate as Madeleine's parents to see her found. They will help anyone who they believe has a real chance of finding her.
