A conhecida 'Criminal Profiler' americana Pat Brown estará esta semana de visita ao Algarve, numa tentativa de ajudar a encontrar Madeleine McCann, desaparecida na Praia da Luz a 3 de Maio de 2007.

Pat Brown interessou-se por este caso, tendo inclusivamente escrito um livro que reflecte o seu raciocínio e conclusões sobre o misterioso desaparecimento, intitulado "Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann". A obra, baseada em factos constantes do processo do Ministério Público português e da investigação levada a cabo pela Polícia Judiciária, viria a ser objecto de uma tentativa de censura por parte do casal McCann, que através dos seus advogados pressionou com sucesso a Amazon - site onde o e-book se encontrava à venda - a retirar o livro da sua oferta. A receita da venda do livro destinava-se a financiar uma viagem de Pat Brown à Praia da Luz e a outros locais de relevo no 'caso Maddie', viagem essa que decorre neste momento.

Em sua defesa, Pat Brown incumbiu a advogada Anne Bremner de redigir uma carta, instando o casal a desistir da interferência dolosa que exerceu no seu direito a conduzir um negócio, e a respeitar o seu direito à liberdade de expressão. The famous 'Criminal Profiler' U.S. Pat Brown will this week visit to the Algarve in an attempt to help find Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.

Pat Brown became interested in this case, has even written a book that reflects their thinking and conclusions about the mysterious disappearance, titled "Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann." Just look at that puff piece - most likely, Brown wrote it, as it is all about her, and Morais - for some reason I cannot begin to guess - translated it and posted it on her blog.

Anyone still kidding themselves that Brown has any reason for being in Portugal bar the betterment of Brown?

Incidentally, this could get Morais sued under the Trades Description Act:

I think she means, The notorious, unqualified crime gossip and publicity hound Pat Brown, who has never once solved a case, and is generally totally wrong about any crime she 'profiles'.

Brown is clearly fooling no-one as to what this is, a publicity stunt for her next book which will probably be all about her "SEARCH" in the barren wastelands of Portugal.

But that piece above is nothing but a BEGGING letter to the media to take her seriously. I find that odd as doesn't Amaral have such good TV contacts? Why has he not got her on his friend's talk show? Do we have that to look forward to or has Amaral's influence waned recently?

There's something wrong with Brown, no normal middle-aged woman issues incessant demands to be Liked! or indulges in such brazen attention-seeking.

And Lord knows what possessed Morais to post that for Brown, it is toe-curlingly embarrassing.

how long is she there in Portugal for, and when is she finally gonna get to the bloody place where Madeleine went missing?

Amoral wanted 66,000 euros or something for an interview with Sky news didn't he---does Brown think that is the kind of payment she will get IF the media decide they are interested in her?

And I do so hope she isn't the victim of any of the gangs in Portugal who seem to incessantly pray on tourists and mug them...........

There you are! She will be gracing the Algarve with her presence on Saturday. I swear she thinks the locals are going to be touching their forelocks to her, and begging for nylons and chewing gum, as they are so poor they have to sell their children for sex.

Search for Madeleine continues

British newspapers have reported that the cost of Scotland Yard’s investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is set to reach £2 million, with the bill being picked up by the UK’s Home Office.

The force’s homicide squad is examining the case after Prime Minister David Cameron called them in last May at the request of Madeleine’s parents, Gerry and Kate.

A spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann said: “They have always been very appreciative of the time and resources that the British police and Home Office have committed to the search for Madeleine and they are grateful that the review is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, American crime profiler Pat Brown arrived in the Algarve on February 6 to “search for locations” where missing Madeleine might be.

Writing on her blog, she said: “I plan to survey the area and then reanalyse the crime based on what I learn. Then, I plan to search in locations I believe Maddie may be.

“I can accomplish the first part of the plan within 10 days. The second part is unlikely to be fully accomplished and may require my return to Portugal if I think another search has merit.”

Although Pat Brown does not believe the odds are great in finding Madeleine on her trip, she hopes to increase her knowledge of what exactly did happen on the evening of Madeleine’s disappearance, in order to unearth information that could move the case forward.

She states online that she will be updating her findings as and when she can.

She's not holding out any high hopes of finding that The McCanns are innocent, is she.
But there wouldn't be any Capital in that, would there.

She is going to get back, write another book, and then go back to PdL in the middle of Summer for a nice warm holiday on the proceeds of said book.

In the meantime, the Bars are open 24/7 and it is much warmer inside than out. She could well do wonders for the alcohol economy of PdL.

The Portuguese Press? Gosh, fame indeed. If only it were flattering. If that's the best she can do she might as well give up now. The title of the paper says it all.

I know, the forkers don't usually have a good word to say about the Resident, as it supports Madeleine and her family - they think it's IN IT.

In so far as The Algarve Resident is concerned, I suppose you could say More Power to their Elbow for reporting that a Fly By Night has breezed in and is about to breeze out again.
But it is hardly a European Newspaper. Although I do think that it does okay.

Oh, here comes one of the ex-pat forkers to hurl the usual abuse at the Resident:

I'd not really call the Algarve Resident a newspaper, more of a series of adverts for ex-pats who don't want a Jonny Foreigner to do their plumbing or garden, people who want to buy Hp sauce and teabags, they just sling in the occasional story in the rag. It needs to be picked up by a daily like CM or something and it hasn't yet, but we can live in hope.

I wonder, do they ever actually look at their beloved CdM? It makes the Star look respectable. The big excitement this week has been another of those ghastly, tacky sex fairs they seem so fond of. In the Sun, it would be reported as hard-faced old tarts showing their wobbly bits before the police raid. In CdM, it's 'bold women' being liberated.

Hey but B$own thinks its the Portuguese Press. She will already have told all the folks back home. Don't burst her bubble too.

Leave it to me. I shall inform The Prinniefied Blog which doesn't like Pat Brown very much at all.

Guess she doesn't realise the first language in Portugal is actually Portuguese
