IMO, it is a misnomer to call those 'shutters' - they are more like heavy-duty Venetian blinds, than the sturdy, proper shutters used in shops, etc.

The lichen referred to (references have already been posted so go back and look for yourself) IIRC isn't clumps of the stuff that you see growing on roofs and trees etc. It has been described as a powdery dusting. As it happens lichen is incredibly slowly growing organism and comes in a myriad of forms. Mccann PJ Files is a website you can google for yourself and in the forensic section for 4th May 2007 has all the info. There's no point keep saying you can't see it in a photo

I suspect the Source will turn out to be one of the 'wonderful translators' who just happens to have the very same shutters, and swore that they make any house as secure as Fort Knox. When in fact they are little more than glorified Venetian blinds.

It's been a core forker belief all this time; even last week, furious rows were going on between people who said, Yes, they can be opened from outside, and the flat-earthers who flatly denied it, and recounted tales of shutters they had come across on holiday.

I simply cannot remember where this shibboleth came from.

Not going to happen. Her ego is bigger than her conscience.

I suspect she is going to wring as much money out of her fellow forkers as she can via some new book and then forget she ever heard of them, Tony.

And why the forkers think Brown is paying for this herself, I do not know.

She's funded it from her leaflet, and doubtless will then claim expenses back against tax. In the end, it will be the US taxpayers footing the bill for her jaunt.
