Breaking News:Reuters: U.S. weather service declares "tornado emergency" for Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas after tornadoes heading for area

A "tornado emergency" has been declared in Texas after a twister caused mayhem in the the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The National Weather Service confirmed that two separate tornadoes had touched down early on Tuesday afternoon.

It warned: "Take cover now! Go to the safest room or interior room in your home or business!

"This is a life-threatening situation!"

Dramatic footage showed a car park being hit by one of the monster storms, hurling school buses high into the air.
Electrical transformers could be seen exploding as the powerful winds wrenched them from power poles.
