More than 230 arrested in three days across Portugal
PSP police arrested a total of 235 people across Portugal between Friday, 23 March and this past Monday morning, for various different crimes ranging from drink driving to robbery.
Lisbon PSP made the most arrests at around 100, followed by Setúbal PSP police with around 50 arrests, then the Azores with 23 arrests throughout the three days.
Among the arrests made in the Lisbon area, 45 were for drink driving, 23 for driving without a licence, 10 for drug trafficking and five for robbery.
The remaining people were arrested for other crimes that were specified.
Throughout the weekend, two firearms, ten knives and more than 1,533 doses of drugs were seized across the country.
Meanwhile, a total of 377 road accidents were recorded by the PSP police throughout the three days, which led to one death, two serious injuries and 88 minor injuries.
According to the PSP, these figures show a reduction of around 13.14 percent compared to the previous weekend.
