I suspect the MP has said he will try to find out what the situation is, in a letter or email to Bennett, and Bennett has rewritten that as having his MP's support?

I can see the Honourable Member for Harlow hitting the roof when he sees this:

In addition, I have the support of my M.P., Robert Halfon, who has kindly agreed to take up the issue of the denial of legal aid to me, and the wholly disproportionate legal resources available to the McCanns in this case - contrary to numerous strong rulings by the European Court of Human Rights - directly with Minister for Justice, Ken Clarke.

Bennett has clearly worded that to suggest that Robert Halfon supports Bennett's harrassment of the McCanns.

Well, Well. This Diss a Troll Campaign seems to be doing rather better than we hoped, especially with The Chief Troll Bennett.
I personally don't care if he gets Legal Aid. I would quite like to see a half decent Barrister trying to defend him. This could turn into the best laugh evar.
Bennett still broke his undertaking to The High Court, and he still committed Libel against The McCanns. There are no odds to either of those two facts.

What really astonishes me is that he though no-one would check. Even many antis do not believe what he says; did he think none of them might just query the matter, or drop him in it by tweeting/emailing a 'thank you' to the MP? Or did he imagine that, if a pro blew this wide open, the antis would rally to his aid? If one wasn't too sure about his mental state, this latest stunt shows how sick he is. LL
